Transition effects from one clip to another

Hello
I am a photographer who assembles timelapse videos using virtualdub and avisynth.

I create individual frames from RAW files, and then use Imagesource.

I have been using "Dissolve" function with 10 frames to transition.
However, I see other photographers use some funky transition effects in aftereffects and other WYSIWYG editors where the current frames moves out upwards, and the next frame moves in from below(kind of like old TV V.hold error), and some more.

I am wondering, if there are other functions like Dissolve to create transition effects between clips.

Well you can do a lot with animate() and/or overlay() to make frames move and such. But that's gonna be a bit more difficult than just inputting 2 video streams into a function.

I'm sure someone here already made some fun wrapper functions for effects like these.

You can install DVD Slide GUI (http://download.videohelp.com/tin2tin/index.html), uncheck all additionals programs.

In "C:\Program Files (x86)\DVD slideshow GUI\Transitions" or equivalent, you can see some example with plugins and other files used by the scripts.
