Hello,
Very quickly, for those interested, I have released the NHW v0.3.0-rc31 new version. I continue to fine-tune the nhw_kernel weights. This new version has then more precision and a better visual quality. Normally this new version gains that little extra precision, so normally at -q14 setting, NHW should have a competitive precision, while still keeping its neatness. From -q12 to -q8 settings, there is the psychovisual model, for now this model is optimized for neatness, and it is maybe not totally precision's best friend in its current state... So for now high compression in NHW has a good/competitive precision and very high compression puts more forward neatness... More at: https://nhwcodec.blogspot.com/ Cheers, Raphael |

For the 512x512 size, that's a pity that the niche industry is not interested in NHW, because if they would, they could have delegated a team to help me to adapt NHW to any image size, as I really need it as this extremely huge task is impossible for me alone... For now there is just the binaries download update on my blogspot and the source code update on my GitHub... yes that's not really something exciting for a new release... Cheers, Raphael |

Since this thread does not seem to go anywhere:
Has the way you compute 'neatness' improved since https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.p...35#post1903235 ? If you are looking for folks to get interested, you use some unknown/uncommon metric, you should showcase on your homepage that it makes sense to use this metric. Atm. you got a homepage with the download and basically no information. Over at github you write: Quote:
Maybe showcase x265/x265/av-1 vs your encoder based on that on your homepage. Even at 512x512 (which even some trashy cameras will drop in the not too far future) it should be possible to come up with some demonstration. Cu Selur |
