Since you also list decoders, perhaps libavcodec (used in ffmpeg, ffdshow, MPlayer etc.) should be mentioned. After all, it contains the only usable open source H.264 decoder.

Yes, I know this lib. When I see it last time - there was big problems with code.
But ok, it's updated permanently as I see:

Added!

Thanks!

I found only http://www.nerodigital.com/enu/PR_2004_05_27.html and several places, where Nero + Ateme was declared. What link can be used for
themselves Nero AVC Decoder?

Cyberlink also have an AVC encoder aswell
http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/produ...in_43_ENU.html

mpeg4 SP and AAC appear to have been introduced in version 1.5 according to 1 of their press releases, which are online there. however only version 1.0 appears to be available for download for a 30 day trial.

also the JM reference is up to version 10.1 by the way.

guys check the details plz!!!
its known cyberlink doesnt have an own encoder! they till now used the one from moonlight!
so cyberlink is not an own avc encoder! its a wrapper tool for the moonlight encoder and shouldnt be listed as on own codec, but rather be totally removed or listed under moonlight

the same way mainconcept should be either removed or listed under elecard, as mainconcept uses elecards encoder

In the hardware list you could include the (useless imo) I-Pod 5th generation. It supports AVC baseline @L1.3, right?

Same codec...

Dmitriy,

As Elecard was taken over from Moonlight by MainConcept, there is no more Moonlight (they recently announced liquidation on their web site - now even the web site is gone). Moonlight probably didn't have much of a development team, all was done in Elecarard I suspect, so when they lost Elecard they lost everything.

On the other hand, Mainconcept has it's own dev team, which is now working together with Elecard's team. The H264 codec from Elecard and MainConcept is the same, and it should not be stated twice in your list.

Also from THIS thread it is obvious that Sony licensed H264 from MainConcept, so I don't see the point of listing Sony eather, it's the same codec.

I would: remove Moonlight, remove Sony, join Elecard and MainConcept - 3 entries less in the list.

Hope this helped to make things clearer.

1) the moonlight avc and elecard avc encoders/decoders are totaly different ones! so moonlight shouldnt be removed
2) i am not sure that sony uses the elecard encoder too, at least i never heard a statement about that from elecard devs, which are around on doom9

They are different - probably because Elecard's AVC evolved in the meantime. Just a guess.
Try to get the latest version of AVC from Moonlight and let us all know what's their web page.

I said Sony uses MainConcept's AVC (which is now the same as Elecard's). So it's not Sony's. Download Sony Vegas trial and you will see the AVC dll properties say "mainconcept", as the above mentioned thread stated first.

I am sure you didn't miss the info about Elecard/MainConcept joining forces.

If we are interested in the future of AVC, it all comes down to the following: we will not have Moonlight's and Sony's AVC solutions, Elecard and MainConcept will provide same thing.

well its an indication, but might not be a 100% proove that sony uses elecards encoder

i would only say thats for sure if elecards devs confirm that its really that way
