YES!!! That was it! No wonder the snippets I made for you guys worked fine, for some odd reason the file 'Needed' to be run through MKVMerge first...
I ran the entire original file through MKVMerge first and NOW I am encoding it with Clever (for some bizarre reason the current version won't open anymore and I have to use the last version, weird...) and YES! it is coming out just fine.I'm glad I stumbled on it finally! I realized that the snippets I was making had been run through MKVMerge first and encoded just fine. Still don't understand 'Why', but I'm glad I figured it out... ![]() Thanks for all the help! |

![]() Well, I don't know WHY, but the snippets were created WITH MKVMerge, so that is how I figured out that whatever MKVMerge was doing was apparently 'Fixing' it. The only thing that gave that away was trying to encode the entire original file right after encoding a snippet of it. The snippet was encoding just fine, the entire (NON-MKVMerged file) was not. So, there you go... |

Hmmm... I still don't know what to do when they divide the movie up into a bunch of small files in the Blu-ray folder structure. I just took a look at the full 4k folder of 'HELLRAISER III' which is about 70 Gigs or so, but there is no single movie file to process, and I don't THINK there is any way to load it in Clever...
![]() I tried dumping the entire folder into Handbrake, but I don't think it worked. I wonder what I can do to process the movie and also the Xtras...? |

Ah! MakeMKV to the rescue!
I didn't realize that it would collate all those files in a UHD structure. Awesome, now I have a file to input to Clever! (although, I wonder if there is a way to drop the BDMV folder into the program and have it discern what the main movie file is or give you a choice of playlists to encode?

It's interesting how that still comes up with new releases, but only occasionally... I've always thought it was simply an anti-copying device, but I wonder why you only see it once in a great while and why...? (always curious... )

You may try DGDemux on a playlist then you can preview what is waiting, or try BDInfo.
While authoring one can decide for a versatile structure with different playlists. then split the available assets at segment borders into various .m2ts. Then one can shuffle and chain these available .m2ts segments for 1.: Cut versions: (directors cut / theatrical cut / extended cut) or 2.: Language-dependent renderings (cartoons like "Ratatouille" may show paper headlines in languages matching one's player preference like fr, en, de) or 3.: vacation edits private/official <your ideas here>

Hey ProWo! I'm having trouble for some odd reason with the A/V sync with this movie. The original UHD MKV file plays just fine. The movie is 'GATTACA' After doing the usual conversion from UHD-HD/HDR-SDR and then muxing the TrueHD audio and the subtitle files, and then using TSMuxer to rending a playable Blu-ray, the audio is out of sync. And, also what's weird is that if I adjust the delay say with VLC player, when I advance to a later part of the movie it still is out of sync.
This has only happened a few times and I THINK only with TrueHD tracks. What I've done in the past when I have enough headroom and the processed video track leaves enough room, I have converted the TrueHD track to a full PCM track which is considerably larger. That's always been in sync when I've had to do that. But, this time the video file is too large to accommodate a huge PCM audio file. I don't know if it's the Atmos part of the audio, which I cannot play anyway or what. When I check the muxed audio file that Clever did, MediaInfo says the TrueHD file has 16 tracks??! When I examine the original MKV file audio track it says 7.1+11 objects? Is that messing it up somehow? All I really need is the straight 7.1 or even 5.1. I don't know quite what to do or how to get the audio in sync without losing the full HD audio quality. Please help, thanks Bro! PS: I'm trying using Eac3to to supposedly convert the original atmos TrueHD file into a TrueHD+AC3 file, I have NO bloody idea if that will help. PPS: No, it still says 16 channel... But, I'll try to mux it and see if somehow miraculously it might be in sync... ![]() PPPS: Ah... actually that DID work! I guess in doing the conversion it 'fixed' whatever was causing the audio to go out of sync. I guess in the future if Clever does the same thing, I'll just process the TrueHD through Ea3to. Still kind of weird as to why it happened. Last edited by Lathe; 3rd March 2026 at 05:04. |

If the audio is no longer synchronized after muxing with clever, you should first remux the original mkv and then use the remuxed version for muxing with the SDR video stream. |

It's ALMOST like when Clever processed the video, you would first think that it was made out of sync with the original audio. BUT... when I then tried using Eac3to to take the original TrueHD Atmos file and 'convert' it to TrueHD+AC3, THEN the resulting audio file IS indeed in sync when muxed with the processed Clever video file. So, what I would GUESS is that perhaps in the original audio, maybe due to it's being Atmos, IDK... there is some kind of 'Marker' or heading or something that is off, and when I then process it through EAC3to, THEN it's like it's 'Fixed' it somehow and THEN can be muxed just fine with Clever's resulting video. So, clearly SOMETHING is wrong with how the original audio is processed, because just straight muxing it with or without Clever, the resulting file will not sync. But, at least I have something I can do to 'Fix' it. But, I'm thinking the error is NOT with Clever due to what I've tried. |

It's more likely that there is a problem with the timestamps. That's why I advised you to simply remux the UHD mkv; this will rewrite the timestamps and could solve the problem. |
