Netflix Coronavirus Quality Comparison?
Does anyone know of a technical comparison of Netflix quality before and after their recent quality reduction to limit Internet bandwidth usage in Europe?
I understand they have not reduced resolution, a movie which is 1080p still plays in that resolution, but the bitrate is lowered. I have noticed some extra compression artefacts recently if I look closely, I wonder if there's a proper comparison out there? Or details on bitrates before and after? CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+D to view video stats including bitrate, unless they have removed this feature lately.
Netflix has always offered their content at multiple bitrates, even for the same resolution. They used to have a hidden menu where you could select from all the available bitrates, but they removed that feature a few years ago. |

Thanks a lot for the tips. To be honest, in my case (I am living in Germany) I did not feel any downside here. However, I do have problems with my internet connection, especially at the beginning of this situation. But Netflix has been working really well these days
