I do it too for the first time but then, I use rsync like
Code:
rsync -vazHE --force --delete --recursive /source/ /destination/
for ext partitions.
Much faster than dd as it copies only newer files.
Very powerfull, you can make versions etc.
Different option have to be used for dos/ntfs partitions tough. I don't remember as writing from windows.

Very noob to win (used for Avisynth and sometimes davinci only), so I can't tell but the vote seems to be clear.

Ah, right, I see.
Well I'd love to use Davinci Resolve on Fedora but I have a big problem: I'm stuck with Nouveau with my GPU and they don't offer the necessary protocols to make it run...

Anyway about the HDD and so on, last year in the end I changed my disks and now I have a:

- Intel NVME 1 TB SSD
- Samsung EVO 860 1TB Sata III
- Samsung QVO 860 1TB (swapped the DVD Drive)

And I'm kinda happy with my config: fedora 34 boots in a few seconds. I can't complain.

Fast offtopic: Davinci works (kinda, some crashes) on Debian with nvidia drivers, not nouveau.
Try to find linux drivers for your card.
(and don't forget to backup, rsync is solid, also through network)
