10" Android tablet that supports HEVC 10 bit

I've got an aging Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 that I bought a number of years ago, and one things it's great at is playing 1080P HEVC 10bit video due to its Snapdragon processor.

Looking for recommendations for a newer tablet with a screen size of 10" or larger that can playback 1080P HEVC 10 bit video.

Preferably one I can buy through either Amazon Canada, Staples Canada or Best Buy Canada. (Or Even Lenovo or Samsung)

Thanks

Most if not all current tablet models can play 1080p HEVC 10-bit. Just pick one you like

I think most can play HEVC 8 bit, but a lot of them fail on 10bit.

I was looking at the Lenovo tab M11 and was told by someone on Reddit that the MediaTek Helio G88 only supports HEVC 8 bits so I'm not sure what to believe.

Mediatek's specs only indicate that it supports HEVC but no indication of 10 bits.

Not sure about MediaTek tablets, but my Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd gen, using a Snapdragon 665, has no problem playing HEVC 10 bit content in VLC

This is part of the problem. In the Canadian market these tablets don't use the same processor as other markets even though they have the same model number.

To playback HEVC 1080P 10 bit requires that the device have a hardware decoder capable of decoding that codec. If the hardware doesn't support it then the player is doing it in software which requires a much more powerful processor

I use Nova Video Player on my devices, but I need a device that can decide the video in Hardware. So either a Snapdragon processor or a higher end Exynos processor.

My Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd gen uses Snapdragon 680 and plays 10-bit HEVC only in software mode.

Codec Info app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...seus.codecinfo ) shows installed codecs and info about the profiles and levels supported.

For instance, my 10" Nokia T21 tablet has Unisoc T612 and doesn't support hardware decoding of 10 bit avc and hevc

Comparison - OnePlus 6 smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 supports hevcmain10 - that is 10-bit main profile h265 video HARDWARE decoding. I have also verified it with a video clip
