If you switch windows hdr on it works 10 bit Fullscreen windowed as well as windowed 10 bit this wouldn't affect anything else madvr is doing upscaling etc would it.

Hi, anyone out there still playing 3D movies, got a bit of an issue. Not played anything 3D for a while so i'm not sure when this is started. If I play a 3d movie it plays fine, however if I skip through a little I start getting presentation glitches every second or so, if I stop the movie and start it again in the same place all is good so I have a workaround, pausing doesnt help. Tried a few things to get to the bottom of it but getting nowhere, its not hardware acceleration as I turned that off as thats the first thing I thought it would be, I tried the latest version of MADVR and the last oldest version, all with default settings and still the same. Does it with both KODI DS and MPC-HC so it must be MADVR, LAV or DRIVER related.

Anyone come up against this, have any suggestions?

Yeah you can switch windows hdr on and it pushes 10bit through then just toggle it off when you go back to sdr thats all I'm doing.

maybe read the bug report more closely i do not recommend that fix in there but it beats restarting the PC. because in the worst case you have to restart the PC.

Thanks, i'll try disabling Hags but I need this one as its also a gaming machine, dont want to have to have to enable this and reboot just to play a movie.

That did fix it but only in conjunction with turning on FSE in MADVR as well.

Thanks

I meant a proper fix, not a workaround. I believe there is an error in the comments, for me on 6900xt amd hdr (win 11 os hdr off) works in 10 or 8bit fullscreen windowed.

i'm 100 sure that you needed 10 bit with amd in the far past but if they changed that good.

I actually went back to 0917, Don't remember this issue happening on that I'll try the newest beta then.

That does fix that issue but it re-breaks the other issue I now get Presentation glitches which are undefeatable with GP scheduling turned on or off and FSE turned on or off.

So I guess I either have to leave this broken and be on the latest version and stop and start the movie every time I skip I'll go back to 09217 I live with the extra information tabs coming up every time I open the settings, Does that actually cause any problems or can I just delete the mall every now and again?

EDIT, Went back to the old version that is now completely broken presentation glitches are completely undefeatable now regardless of what settings I use I'm not sure why moving from one version to another completely broke it I even wiped it and set it all up again and it's still broken so I've had to go back to the latest version and I'll just have to live with stopping the movie and restarting it if I want to skip it just help this gets fixed with the next release but he sounds busy.
