Are there any Dolby Atmos Radio Stations?

Hi there,
I generally listen to Capital London in DAB, but that's just as little as 64 kbit/s in HE-AAC v2 2ch 44100Hz stereo. There are other radio stations like BBC Radio One which is better as it goes up to AAC-LC 320 kbit/s 44100Hz stereo. Still, no Dolby Atmos or 7.1 or 5.1 whatsoever. Are there any streaming services or radio stations (excluding apple music for apple devices) that currently support anything more than plain old Stereo?

YT can stream in 51, and TIDAL can stream in Atmos. But both, only for selected content.

What's the intention? Surround music? And what's your speaker setup?

With Atmos the intention is listen 3D surround audio, of course.

And the recommended speaker setup must be, at least:

I thought YouTube was downmixing everything to 2.0 and they were not interested in 5.1 anyway given how many frequencies they cut before encoding in AAC...
I didn't know that some contents were in 5.1...

About Tidal, I'll give it a shot.

Well, given how much Apple has been advertising the usage of Atmos in music, I thought I would give it a go and see if it's worth it or not.

An Atmos compatible with a very normal consumer setup which I upgraded from my old 5.1 to 7.1, nothing too fancy:

Front Left
Front Right
Center
LFE
Mid Left
Mid Right
Surround Left
Surround Right

Yep, the ones you call TFL - TFR are what I call Mid Left, Mid right and yes, that's what I have with the only exception that the front speakers are much shorter so that they can fit in the forniture, but yeah, that's pretty much it.

Anyway, I was finally able to listen to one of those streams from and I gotta say that I'm very very disappointed.
The song was: The Weeknd - Save your tears
The reason why I picked that one is that... well... I like the Weeknd and I already had that song in Stereo. I also suspected that it was recorded in stereo but since there was the Atmos stream there, I was like: What the heck, I'll give it a go. When I listened to it, it was... well... rubbish. It honestly didn't add anything to the song as the additional channels were filled with reverb and pretty much nothing else was coming out from them...
After all, this confirmed my suspects that the song was made and recorded in stereo, so what they put there was a pretty poor upmix...

YT51 is a very recent change.

OK, so you have a 5.1.2 system, I would suggest you prefix "mid" speakers with top , otherwise there's no indication that they are at the top.

RE the Weeknd, they did an Atmos mix, as this article shows, but unfortunately, it might be a bad mix as you said.

Try listening to

Donna summer - Last dance
Booka shade - Atlantic Beam (Dear future album)
Kraftwerk - Pocket calculator (3-d catalogue album)

in Atmos. Verify the atmos badge is on the song or album.

ED: also, can you play back m2ts files on your system?

Sure, no problem.

Yep, m2ts from official blurays work like a charm and the audio is very good as well! In action movies explosions, planes flying, shots etc are all over the place, it's very cool.
