Simply because some sources are like that, such as CCTV recordings and anime. The first records at a slow pace, increasing frame rate just when movement is detected. The second use, in their original form, 29,97 for panning and 23,976 for character action. Sometimes it happens to find them in the original form. Having a variable framerate output avoids audio desync and keeps video in the original form without having to dedup, telecide, duplicate and so.

Is there a way to save ALL the settings and not only the encoding ones in templates?
At the moment I have two separate installation directories of StaxRip, one to demux and remux after encoding anime, the other one to plain encode the video without any demux or remux involved. It would be nice to remember everything per template. Any idea?

"Staxrip" has gone off in another direction, and is developing other app's. "JKyle" (who was doing a LOT of work), has disappeared, his last post was back in early July '21. The latest release was back in early October '21. v2.10.0, by "Dendraspis" Same can be said for RipBot264, there has been a serious lack of updates, or revisions, in what seems like years (but it's probably only about 1) So sad, too bad ![]()

Then you see in the line --no-info and you have no info about your encoding settings. |

Thank you for the information.
I tried to do an encoding test UHD, with Intel Core i5 9600K/GeForce RTX 2070 VG258, with Preset "Very slow" I get a processing of 0.15 fps, with preset "Medium"> (1.56 fps). I feel like crying, I don't know if I cry less with Ryxen 9 5900X. Last edited by DMD; 17th January 2022 at 13:40. |

I am using qaac and normalize. Where is it passing the gain information here, I don't see it.

Boxes and more boxes
I have installed fillborders and AWB_Kelvin using ShiftCCT (Correlated Colour Temperature) function in AVS filters - profiles. Both are working.
Now for the tricky part. Using vdub2 avisynth i have a set of trim commands Trim(0,18416) Trim(18417,20223).ShiftCCT(7700) Trim(20224,81096) Trim(81097,81223).ShiftCCT(7700).Levels(0, 1.1, 255, 0, 255) Trim(81224,81311) Trim(81312,86070).ShiftCCT(7700).Levels(0, 1.1, 255, 0, 255) Trim(86071,131324) Trim(131325,136269).Levels(0, 1.1, 255, 0, 255).Tweak(bright=0,cont=1.1) Trim(136270,151079) Trim(151080,156603).Levels(0, 1.05, 255, 0, 255).Tweak(bright=0,cont=1.1) Trim(156604,159596) Trim(159597,168204).ShiftCCT(8700).Levels(0, 1.05, 255, 0, 255).Tweak(bright=0,cont=1.1) Trim(168205,175366) Trim(175367,184808).ShiftCCT(7700) Trim(184809,192795) When i tried to do it in staxrip in one of the avs filters box, it crashed with stack overflow error blah blah. OverflowException (v2.8.0) Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow. System.OverflowException: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow. at StaxRip.PreviewForm.GetDrawPos(Int32 frame) in D:\Code\Github\staxrip\staxrip\Source\Forms\PreviewForm.vb:line 402 at StaxRip.PreviewForm.pnTrack_Paint(Object sender, PaintEventArgs e) in D:\Code\Github\staxrip\staxrip\Source\Forms\PreviewForm.vb:line 484 at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnPaint(PaintEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.PaintWithErrorHandling(PaintEventArgs e, Int16 layer) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmPaint(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) It seems i can't use Trim(18417,20223).ShiftCCT(7700) or Trim(18417,20223) ShiftCCT(7700) in one box but Trim(18417,20223) another box ShiftCCT(7700) works. Is there a way of doing the same or similar to vdub2? I don't thinks it is practical to do 28 boxes plus other boxes. Last edited by coolgit; 19th January 2022 at 07:15. |

STV-AV1 Config change
Hello, since SVT-AV1 v0.8.7-363 build the following warning appears:
"[SVT-Warning]: --keyint is now intra-period + 1!" I would like to ask you to test the StaxRip SVT-AV1 encoder Options cmd and GUI settings for upcoming releases. Thank you ![]() edit: SVT-AV1 0.9 stable was released. Please find all changes for staxrip on gitlab: https://gitlab.com/AOMediaCodec/SVT-AV1/-/releases Last edited by VincAlastor; 26th January 2022 at 11:00. |

Today I noticed that I am updating the x265 encoder x265-3.5+21+12-cb341a7ef-[Mod-by-Patman] is this the correct version for StaxRip?
Thank you ![]() Last edited by DMD; 24th January 2022 at 18:06. |

vfr instead of cfr output file
Using staxrip x265 to encode some bluray remuxs, after a 2 day long encode, mediainfo shows resulting file as variable frane rate 23.976 instead of constant.
Could anyone tell me how to set a constant frane rate please? |

Hi. I've been a long time lurker.
Created an account to ask about the development of StaxRip. I've noticed that development kind of died, and the project coders are ASAP as far as anybody knows. I've check here, discord and reddit, and haven't been able to find what has happened. I'd like to ask seasoned StaxRip users, would the outdated-"ness" of this program eventually render it obsolete? If so, would Handbrake be a viable alternative? Or would it remain in time? |
