Restoring MacGyver (NTSC)
I've been trying to process the first season of MacGyver (the sources are NTSC DVDs). Obviously the material is pretty much butchered what comes to telecining so it is a bit of a pain. I'm looking for any advice that you may have
What I've discovered is that the opening credits use a normal 3:2 pattern. The other parts show up as "pppccpppccpppccpppccpppccppppcc" where p is a non-combed frame and c is a combed frame. So the cycle is 6 duplicates in every 31 frames. However, there are also some stray duplicates inside this pattern Does anyone have any ideas how to handle this? Is it possible to normally IVTC the opening credits and IVTC the other parts without the stray duplicates messing the clear 31-frame long pattern, then remove the stray duplicates from the result?

Yes, it looks like mode 2 in TDecimate is the only way to get anything decent out of the material. I decided to go the 2-pass way which seems to work fairly well.
