When you playback a 23.976 movie @ 25fps the sound gets a bit high. Is there any filter you can use to pitch the sound down again? Is there any app that can change all Windows apps on a OS level? I've got an Nfore2 motherboard but I haven't been able to change anything in the Soundstorm controlpanel.

Audio stops playing
@Ogo
First of all thanks for your ReClock! Now with my Athlon XP 1800+ I can have a smooth playback ! But I have a problem since version 0.99g (0.99f doesn't have this problem) : after 5 minutes of playing, the movie keep playing but the sound stops! To see the rest of the film I must close Media Player Classic, restart the film and seek ... I use Windows Media Player Classic, ffdshow, Reclock 0.99k on a Windows XP system. My video card is a GeForce 4 Ti4200 (drivers version 43.41). DirectX 9 is installed (I'll install version 9a soon) PS I noticed that there's no playback problem on Intel systems (my old PIII 500 plays the movies fine) and doesn't need reclock! |

@Ogo:
Lately I started using Vorbis audio in my video encodes. All was fine and I was happy with the smaller file sizes Vorbis audio compression give me until I discovered that when I play the videos I'm getting dropped frames like ReClock isn't doing anything! So the problem is this: When I play AVIs with MP3 or AC3 audio playback is smooth. When I play OGMs with Vorbis audio playback is not smooth but it drops frames. Can you look into this? I'll be grateful if you did.

Choppy sound
Just installed ReClock. Really does wonders for the sometimes really crappy video stream.
However the sound gets all distorted. After a few seconds of playing it seems a second "sound stream" appears, lets say 2 second out of sync with the first. The original stream and the new one are "chopped" together (meaning 1/10 of a second the first stream is played, the next 1/10 the second stream is playing, then the first and so on). Something similar also happens with mp3's. The sound skips back and forth. My guess is that the two phenomenons come from the same problem. Everything works well when unregistering ReClock (except from jerky picture in movies).... Anyone else experiensed this? I'm using version 0.99k. What additional info do you need from me to be able to look into this? |

Hi Ogo,
I have been using your filter since the beginning of the year and all together it performs what it is supposed to do. Except with a few hiccups here and there. However, as you have mentioned that you have removed the sound skip detection and as such, yes there is still sound skip over at my side. It is more in the form of click sounds esp when there are more moving sprites in the picture. This is especially evident in 29.97 FPS VCD mpg (played back on 25 FPS Pal TV). So hopefully a new version will come soon, it has been more than one month and well usually you release at one new revision every month. Perhas an update soon?Interestingly AC3 work well with DIVX tracks for me. |

@All
Does anybody know what happened to Ogo? No replies for so long time. It would be a shame, if the fantastic ReClock Filter would get no more support.

Hi !
Sorry for my long silence. I've been too busy those last weeks, and will continue to be busy at least until fall ... Anyway, i've decided to release another version of ReClock. So version 1.0 (Yes you read it well, i'm tired with letters ) is now available on my website. It contains some useful additions (cleaning the databases, use of reclock as default renderer), and improvements to sound handling in PCM mode. This version will not solve problems for those who don't have reclock running correctly since version K (since i switched to D3D). I need to put back the "old method" as an alternative option in future releases. In the meantime, i suggest your to use the J version if you have problems. Please forgive me if i'm slow to respond in the upcoming months and thanks again for you support ! ![]() ogo

Hi,
Why won't ReClock find any videostream in my MPEG2 files? I have a bunch of MPEG2-PS files (all of them were originally PVA files that were muxed into MPEG2-PS files with BBMpeg) but ReClock never finds any videostream in any of them ![]() I've tried with PowerDVD5 filters and also with WinDVD5 filters. The result is always the same: no videostream found ![]() I'm using Zoom Player 3.10 with the VMR9 option activated and the fix for the scaling bug also activated. Is anyone also experiencing this problem? Thanks a lot. Regards. |

Ran into a couple of problems:
1. Mpeg2 und Mpeg1 Streams are treated badly. This shows for me when I use the Plus!-Extension in MSN Messenger which can send sounds. These sounds are chopped with ReClock activated. 2. Some Games crash or don't work well. An example is Empire of Magic. Doesn't load after the introduction animation. Can't tell you what format the sound is in since the files are all in *.dat. No problem with ReClock deactivated. 3. From a sole subjective view, videos seem a trifle choppier. Maybe that's because of what you did with the buffers? Suggestion for quick workaround: Make the ReClock icon permanent (or an option to show always/onload/never like VobSub does) and let me enable/disable Reclock by doing something to the icon (rightclick, singleclick). |

Version 1.1 is out on my website
![]() It adresses many issues discussed here. I'm out for vacation for at least one week, so i won't be able to respond you ... I suggest you to clear the timings database after install of this version just to be sure that you start from a good situation. Cheers ogo

1.1 is working good as ever, but I had never any problems with it :-)
One question: I like VMR9 cause I think it's sharper than Overlay or VMR7. But its big drawback is that your vsync correction does not work correctly with VMR9 (as you mentioned in the readme) so I keep the overlay renderer at the moment. Are there any efforts to solve this with VMR9? Another thing: I need different VSync positions for different resolutions/refresh rates (i.e. I need different positions when watching via monitor and when watching via TV out). Would it be possible to make this setting resolution/refreshrate specific; don't know in what way this could be done. Thank you... Last edited by Ewi; 21st July 2003 at 11:13. |

Hi,
This new version has solved my problem with mpeg2 files, thanks a million! Just one more question, please: Should I use ReClock with an LCD monitor? Well, the question should be really split in two: a) Should I use ReClock with an LCD monitor using the analog VGA port? and b) Should I use ReClock with an LCD monitor using the digital DVI port? Thanks again. Best regards. |

Hello ogo,
hope you had nice vacations. I have one small cosmetic suggestion: The new trayicon-mode is a little annoying for me, because my system clock correction goes nearly never down enough to get a sturdy green. Also this flashing gives the impression to an unskilled user, that something severe goes wrong and needs some interaction. So I suggest to use some new sturdy icon. For example a half red and half green icon. Anyway, thank you very much for this excellent filter. Bitmonster |

I found a case where version 0.99k is better : when playing ogm files.
Indeed, when I read a ogm file without reclock, the sound only outputs on the 2 front speakers and not on the 2 rear (I use the nforce2 "soundchip"), problem that doesn't exist with all "normal" avi files. With reclock, I have sound on all speakers, so it's good, moreover, I can use my tv-out with tvtool (tv-mode) without any problem. With version 1.0, I can't read ogm at all when reclock was on. With version 1.1, I can read ogm files with reclock on, but the sound is only on the 2 front speakers, and when I switch to tv-mode, the sound become completely distorted. So, I will stay with version 0.99kfor now... |
