Using Chrome to view HEVC videos
Wow. It's been a while. I always remembered this as the place to go for expert advice. I'm just wondering if anyone knows why Chrome will play HEVC videos on my laptop but not on my desktop PC. Both are running Windows 10, same version of Chrome, same 8-bit 4:2:0 HEVC / h.265 video. I heard Chrome would not play HEVC unless the GPU could provide hardware decoding, so I actually went and bought a new GPU for my PC (one which I first verified had hardware-based HEVC decoding) but it's still not working. I just get the sound and no video. I went to chrome://gpu and saw Quote:
The PC has a GT 1030 graphics card and the laptop has an integrated AMD Radeon 740M
