well this little 8645HS is on par with 11900K (top desktop CPU for Intel in 2021).

Speaking of older, there's my good ol' dual-core Tigerlake mobile cpu:

Funny part is that Ryzen™ 5 8645HS is the same as its first installment 7640HS form half of the 2023.
And this looks same as newer Ryzen 5 240. So AMD just rebranded some processors due to Intel +++process node incompetence.

The next gen is Ryzen AI with perf/eco cores. While the wattage is much smaller, then for example AI 350 from previous page is bit slower than 8645HS with less cores, so this time, its AMD who went to Ultra models (U ment as ultra efficiency).

Not sure how this P/E cores story will end up, since the efficiency clocking is still much better on Android than on Windows with Power Plans from the previous epoque.

Which settings and cooling did you use? There's already a 9950X3D score posted - https://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php...7&postcount=81 - but their overall score is 195 seconds, an 18% improvement.

Anything except SVT-AV1 is a lot slower, I wonder what magic dust he uses on his computer. To make this distinct performance, I mean.
Or he replaced the encoder with newer version, as we all know that SVT-AV1 made major changes to the presets that re-balanced the speed and quality, it was somewhat recent.

I don't replace ffmpeg.exe with newer build in original version.

Anyway Within the limits of uncertainty, the result for SVT-AV1 is the same (41.492s vs 40.828s).

To get the best possible result in this test, no background tasks should be running.

And Asmodian result use PBO profil for 9950x3D.

So I said "he", charliebaby, if he replaced the binary while others don't, that will make a bit sense, as SVT-AV1 is the only one encoder in the test that has been tweaking presets quite recently.

No other reasonable hardware/software tuning should make such a different effect.

I'm planning on 9950X upgrade, gotta do a better comparison when that happens, and perhaps compare that "awful" inter CCD latency with the corresponding AGESA fix.
Code:
|-----------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------
| CPU | Ryzen 9 7950X 16-Core Processor
|-----------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------
| H264 - x264 - 1080p - HDR - Multipart encoding - 1611 frames | 35.127 s
|-----------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------
| H265 - x265 - 1080p - HDR - Multipart encoding - 1611 frames | 43.569 s
|-----------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------

My result for comparison - dirty Win10 install, B650M DS3H, BIOS F37, 2x16GB 6000MHz CL40, CNPS20X air-cooling, PBO Auto etc etc
Code:
|-----------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------

|-----------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------
| H266 - VVEnc - 1080p - HDR - Multipart encoding - 1611 frames | 84.831 s -2,5%
|-----------------------------------------------------------------|--------------------------------------------------
| Overall - 1080p - HDR - ABR Ladder encoding - 1611 frames | 240.709 s -3,9%
