time warner box > computer question
i hope this is the correct forum...
is there a way i can hook a computer into my spectrum/time warner dvr box so that i can see the box as a hard drive and download a recorded program from the box to my computer,,,,or,,,,a way to play a recorded program and copy what i am watching on tv in real time to my computer? i used to have a sony dvd burner. this great device allowed me to hook it up to my cable box and burn dvr'd programs as i played them in real time. this is the device http://www.sonyinsider.com/wp-conten...08/vrdmc10.jpg it has a composite and s-video line-in i am wondering if i can do this without having to burn to dvd, and download to my computer directly. thx |

Chances are the cable company has encrypted the hard drive making the drive inaccessible to a computer.
If the DVR has a firewire port, it might be possible to transfer the DVR recordings to the computer with CapDVHS. Be aware the DVR drivers that need to be installed only work with a 32-bit operating system (there are no 64-bit drivers) and it works best with Windows XP 32 bit. |
