I might also be missing a step, so if anyone can really give a fool-proof method of doing this on Vista that'd be awesome. 1. Grabbed all the software (DRM Helper, drmdbg latest, autoUnDRM for the drm2wmv) 2. Told DRM Helper where my media is. 3. clicked Search for Media, which it found. 4. Clicked start. 5. Pointed drmdbg to my media folder and to the drm2wmv folder. 6. Clicked MultiScan WMP opens up, plays the last song, and nothing else happens. |

Dose DRMdbg load a list of crazy looking code in the lower boxes?
If so then you have the keys located in a *.key file to unDRM those files... Using decryptIT, drm2wmv, or freeme2... use of DecryptIt is the simplest way (i found) to get all files un-drmed... (ie batch mode) The only problem is if half the files are Drmed and half are not in the media folder then drmdbg will play the first file with out the need of Grabbing the key, causing it not to grab all of the keys... keep only the files that need UnDRMed in the folder you wish to un-drm... |

I have tried everything mentioned in this thread and have had mixed results as well as mixed experiences with the various versions of stripping software. I have also downloaded the code that sectroyer posted and am working on some things to make a GUI version similar to the one we all love, but for now I've created a vbScript to help automate the process we have been discussing here in this thread.
Long story short, I've tried all the suggested methods in this post and still came across buggy results - mostly because of the way the drmdbg application processes the files - and I've come to the conclusion that it's easiest to manually run drmdbg and then run a batch script to process the audio files. P.S. the script only works for wma files...not tested on Vista hope this helps

mybsides, your work is wonderful.
Subdirectory scanning became possible. drmdbg 2007/10/27 22:30 http://up.uppple.com/upload.cgi?mode=dl&file=7419 DLKey:12345 zip-pass:nkNr669hu5Q25LMFQG5899abC1m8M5 |

I have some wmv files which I want to unDRM.
I used drmdbg (2007/10/27 22:30) and out of the 10 files I have, only 2 keys were obtained. I successfully manage to unDRM the 2 files using DecryptIt which came with Automate UnDRM v2.0. However, how can I unDRM the remaining 8 files ? |

Can anybody give me clear instructions on how this is supposed to work? I can appreciate that drmdbg gets updated every other day, but it's a bit confusing to keep up with it.
I try to run the program, by double-clicking or through the command prompt. It launches WMP and I select a protected file. Then, it just sits there. Nothing in that large box on the bottom, no text file, no nothing. Can somebody help? (Vista Business, IBX 11.0.6000.7000, also XP Home 11.0.6000.6324, the latter of which currently works with FU4WM). Thanks |

FYI:
Installing the Zune software will upgrade you to IBX 11.0.6000.7000. The installer requires internet access to install. I tried it on an XP Pro virtual machine, and it upgraded to .7000 even with the original WMP9 installed. If you use a computer with the Zune software previously installed, it will retain the old version. My Vista Ultimate desktop is running .6324 with the Zune software installed. |
