Nero 11 Recode

I am trying to encode with Nero 11 Recode. I'm not too concerned about file size and I'm not concerned with encoding time either. I just want the best quality video I can get (as close to the original as possible). There are a lot of options I can change: Encoding precision (0 to 1 in 0.1 increments). Max. reference frames (0 to 3 in 1 increments). Deblocking strength (-6 to 6 in 1 increments). 8 x 8 transform. There are other settings already checked or with a number that I suspect I want left alone, but what about the rest? What are they, what do they do?
