How To Rip a DVD Program Chain Into An MPEG Container?
I've exhausted what little Google Fu I have. Alas, I haven't been able to find the right tools for this. From what I understand, DVD VOB files are essentially MPEG2 files. The trouble is that most of those files are broken into 1GB chunks with a few minor ones less than 1GB. The program chains can permeate all or some of these files. What I would like to do is extract the video stream and one or more of the audio streams that make up a program chain not just from one file and place them in an MPEG container (correctly synced and adhering to standards of course). I do not want to transcode one byte. Is there a tool that I've over looked (and perhaps already use) that can accomplish this easily?
Note: We're talking about non protected VOB files most likely residing on a HDD instead of a DVD.

Thank you both for your assistance. I'm going to look into these apps and see what turns up. When I (re)refigure out telecining and interlacing I'll have to tackle some filtering between the VOB and MPEG process, but for now let's see if I can just get a clean MPEG file.
Thanks again!
