But BD-Rebuilder 0.61.28 in the first Post of this thread includes NVENCCRE and appears to be dated April 2022. Is there any difference?? |

Hi all, wondered if someone could help; I've been using BD Rebuilder for many years without issue, but recently a back-up hasn't worked as normal (or at least I don't think it has). The original movie, when ripped, was split into 14 files - this seems to happen on certain movies for some reason. When I went through my normal process with BD Rebuilder, it created the correct file size (as per my normal settings) but still split into 14 files - I'm pretty sure it used to recompile (if that is the right word) into one file.
It feels like I have a setting wrong, or maybe one of the external components incorrectly configured - I haven't reinstalled as yet, thought I'd ask here first? Many thanks for your help. |

If the size of the movie fits on a 25 GB disc, there won't be a need to recompile. It will just be assembled into a single file. Quote:
Since we have no clue as to what the movie is, further assistance is a little difficult to provide. Output log from BDRB and MediaInfo information about the original files would be a plus. Be sure and code wrap those listings when posting. |

Many thanks both - sorry I wasn't clear, I'm not backing these up onto a disc, just onto my PC for playback on Kodi. They play fine, I just have to possibly rename them to play correctly - nothing to do with BD Rebuilder.
But it's just that until recently no other movies have done this before - they've all recomplied as a single file, so I was a bit confused. I'll try force encode next time i backup a movie that is split into several parts. Many thanks |

Strange that it completed pass one with no issue -- and then failed 3 minutes into pass 2... any chance the system overheated?
Have you tried running the command line from LASTCMD.txt from a DOS (command) window? You'd have to do it right after it failed to make sure everything needed is still there (e.g. the stats file). |

What I see wrong is this: SOURCE_PATH=P:\A NEWLY DOWNLOADED\THE AGE OF INNOCENCE BD50 CC\
It looks like you downloaded the source. If this is true you can get banned from this forum You'd better cleaned your logs before posting them here Last edited by musiclover; 21st April 2023 at 09:11. |

If you run it from the command window, at least you will see what error occurs within X264. |

That Darn Interlaced/Telecined/Wrong Framerate? bugger...
Hey Guys! Long time... I'm surprised to see that the thread has moved so little in the last year.
I've got one of those framerate/interlaced/telecined puzzlers that always throw me. I haven't run into one in quite a while, but what I have is an HD rip that when played back on computer has all kinds of what LOOKS like combing effects. Now, no matter how much I've read about this, I still cannot quite get my tiny mind around it. I'm GUESSING from what I've read is that maybe it is something like an interlaced source improperly encoded progressively or something like that. I tried importing the MKV file into BDRB and checked the 'IVTC Source with 3:2 Pulldown' box (I still have NO bloody idea exactly what that means) and I have the Deinterlaced box checked. I tried encoding it as an alternate output MKV at the same resolution with audio intact. The result though looked just as bad. I'll try to include a snippet of the video so that those of you who know this kind of thing will likely recognize what's going on here and what to do. What is interesting is that when I play the file back with MPC I'm pretty sure it looks better, like the player is somehow automatically employing some kind of filter. But, when I play it with VLC, it looks bad. Here is the MediaInfo of the file: Overall bit rate mode : Constant Overall bit rate : 10.2 Mb/s Frame rate : 25.000 FPS Encoded date : 2023-04-22 04:25:09 UTC Writing application : mkvmerge v75.0.0 ('Goliath') 64-bit Writing library : libebml v1.4.4 + libmatroska v1.7.1 Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4 Format settings : CABAC / 4 Ref Frames Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, Reference frames : 4 frames Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 1 h 31 min Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 10 000 kb/s Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 25.000 FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.193 Stream size : 6.23 GiB (96%) Default : Yes Forced : No Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.709 Transfer characteristics : BT.709 Matrix coefficients : BT.709 Are there specific AVS scripts that I should try to 'fix' or at least improve this? Can I just plug them into BDRB and run them (I'm kind of fuzzy on where BDRB calls the scripts from, can I just put any AVS script in there or what?) I'm going to try to put a link here to the file on my site, hopefully you will be able to download it and see what is going on. It is just an 18 second, 21 Meg video snippet: https://lathe-of-heaven.com/Snippet.mkv You might get some kind of security warning about my site because it is super old, but the file is just simply hosted there. I tried the link and it SEEMED to prompt a download of the MKV Snippet. Thanks! Jaime. Last edited by Lathe; 24th April 2023 at 06:23. |

Guessed damage sequence: NTSC-> PAL blendconversion, blackbars cropped, then uprezzed to FHD.
Now to undo that, something along Code:
ConvertToYV24() AssumeTFF() Lanczos4Resize(720, 446, src_left=0.0, src_top=0.0, src_width=0.0, src_height=0.0) SeparateFields()
