There can be new features if other people contribute...

For example there is someone working on a patchset that allows streaming from Youtube (and many other sites) using Youtube-dl.exe

Development state

MPC-HC does not really have any active developers right now. So don't expect any new functionality or other big changes. Post-processing is already possible. There is pixelshader functionality. Madvr provides several postprocessing filters, and in the future possibly also Avisynth/Vapoursynth support. Ffdshow video processor has several filters and Avisynth scripting support. You can even 'play' Avisynth scripts with MPC-HC if you want to.
