Policy on requests

Recently, there have been numerous requests for things like HD-DVD and BR keys, software enhancements etc.

Such requests are not welcome. For one, if you have the source material, programs and methods have been posted to enable you to find the keys. Use search.

Requests for keys will not be answered and could incur strikes.

As well, many people are requesting enhancements or features from software authors who have not solicited such requests. These requests are also not welcome. It is OK to ask or suggest something when software is in development and authors are actively seeking feedback and requests (eg where a development/discussion thread exists). It is not fair to simply ask for an enhancement because you have a problem that you'd like to see addressed.

Even more bizarre are people asking the whereabouts of other members and when a new release of something will be made (as if anyone other than the author knows anyway).

This forum is simply not a place for these requests!

If you are having a problem with some software or a DVD, by all means post your problem. Otherwise, before making a request, use search thoroughly and ensure that such requests are within the guidelines set out in this thread.

Finally, although development of HD-DVD and BR Decryption is proceeding rapidly, this sub-forum is not the place to discuss demuxing or playback issues. We have separate forums for that. The exception to this is where the playback directly relates to the software under development.
