Version 2.4.3 (06/13/2015)
- Updated: MVCsource with Avisynth headers v6, due this, older Avisynth versions (2.5.8) are no longer compatible ***is now required Avisynth v2.6.0***.
- Updated: x265 encoder to version 1.7.166.
- Small fixes and general improvements.
There is no operation manual, sorry.
Strange then because I had been using it perfectly fine as recently as a couple weeks ago with no issues and without updating AVISynth. v2.5.0 is when it stopped working with no other changes.

Software mystery!

Thank you!

I am having a new issue. I am trying to rip a 3D movie, "Monsters University" to a TAB-MKV. It seems to go as expected until it gets to step 2/3. Then it just hangs at this message:

"[Step 2/3 - X264 CRF] Recode video using x264, single pass CRF..."

I have let it run for hours and even overnight now. I even rebooted the machine. It just sits there at that step whether I use the original BR disk or the ISO I made from it. It never gives me an error and never produces an error log that I am aware of. The option is greyed out.

It just sits at that stage and does nothing.

Any ideas what could cause this? Could it be related to the latest Windows updates from this past Tuesday?

Thank you!

With the details you give cannot know what happens but if only fails with this title in particular I think the cause may be bad rip/encryption issue.

Does it work OK with other titles?

I will try another title to be sure, but it was working fine last time I tried it before this one. The only change was the recent, December "patch Tuesday". That could be coincidence though. I will test and update here.

Thanks!

OK, I have just tried ripping Jurassic World 3D. That is a disk I previously ripped successfully.

I am getting the exact same behavior. It never gives me an error. It never times out. There is no activity on the BD-ROM drive at the same point it did this with the other disk:

"[Step 2/3 - X264 CRF] Recode video using x264, single pass CRF..."

I have no idea what is happening....

If x264 OpenCL acceleration is enabled, try disabling it. With 2-pass encoding, my system would sometimes be stuck on the first pass, it would start and then do nothing. Turned out to be the x264 OpenCL acceleration. Perhaps the same thing is happening here.

Thanks for the suggestion!

It is not enabled however. I use entirely the default settings at this point. I even reset them as per Pistachio's suggestion.

The only thing I have changed is the default "Preferred Media". I set it to "MKV (CRF Mode)". Screenshot attached.

PS: I enabled "x264 OpenCL acceleration" and I'm trying it again to see if it helps!

Unfortunately, it's hanging and behaving exactly the same with that enabled as "x264 OpenCL acceleration" enabled as it did with it disabled.....;(

Hi
Been using this for a while to convert 3d mvc to recoded m2ts for playing on sammy tv. Been working great and I've done plenty of titles. Have discovered three though that I just can't get to work. They appear to recode fine and finish in BdtoAVCHD. However, when i play them back they will reach a certain point (different in each case), pixelate badly and then crash the tv. It's not possible to fast forward beyond the pixellation point.
Normally I adjust bitrate to be close to original but I've tried it using the BD25 calculated bitrate and default settings and it makes no difference (in fact the crash point tends to come earlier).
One thing I have noticed is that in these files the AVC stream is only a bit higher than the MVC file (e.g. 12gb AVC, 10gb MVC) - normally the difference is more exaggerated on those that have worked fine.
My question is, is there any way of not using quick sync and still do a 3D MVC conversion? Or perhaps use software rather than hardware? I know I could try SBS but all other films are in MVC format.
Thank you....great programme btw, it's invaluable :-)

Is this what you mean? http://www.samygo.tv/

I wish I knew how to play back MVC well...

Samsung TVs (recent ones anyway) can play back 3D MVC fine through the Plex app. They just need converting to m2ts files through tsmuxer. Occasionally you get one that crashes, which is where BDtoAVHCD comes in. Adjust the bitrate and recode and it's usually fine. Just sorted my problem with another attempt at one of my problem titles with a bitrate just a tad shy of the original.

Is there a more comprehensive tutorial that you know of than the one at the BDtoAVCHD web page? I think this program is great (despite the fact it won't work for me right now for some unknown reason) but the only thing I can find is that single page. I want to understand more about what settings do and other capabilities like the one you describe. I don't have a specific question. I just want to learn more!

How does a Samsung TV play MVC via Plex app, but Plex app itself can't play MVC?

Sorry for all the questions......like I said, I'm trying to learn!

Not aware of any tutorial. I just picked up enough info from a few bods on the plex forums and this one to learn how to do it, but it is a lot of trial and error! If you want to PM me I can answer in more detail.
Your question about plex though I can answer now, it will only play in 3D frame-packed MVC when it direct plays (so the audio has to be DTS or AC3) - i.e. Plex just hands over the file to the TV. If you select transcoding, it changes to 2D straight away. You will find that if you put an m2ts file on a memory stick and put it in a recent Samsung TV that it will play that file in 3d fine as well.

Version 2.5.2 (01/01/2016)
  • Changed: Removed setting option "Use x264 OpenCL acceleration" (with current processors not worth).
  • Updated: Mkvmerge to version 8.7.0.
  • Updated: x265 encoder to version 1.8.190.
  • Small fixes and general improvements.
DOWNLOAD => BDtoAVCHD_v2.5.2.msi

I don't know if any of this was meant to address my issues, but I will try it, thanks!

I'm having issues encoding The Martian 3D to TAB MKV (or SBS). It hangs on encoding. I think its avs2yuv that isnt serving any frames to the encoder. It works fine on other titles, like Pixels 3D.

I have tried 2.5.1 and the new 2.5.2 with the same issue.

all I get in the x264 windows is:

Quote:
avs [info]: 1920x1080p 1:1 @ 24000/1001 fps (cfr)
x264 [info]: using SAR=1/1
x264 [info]: using cpu capabilities: MMX2 SSE2Fast SSSE3 SSE4.2 AVX FMA3 AVX2 LZCNT BMI2
x264 [info]: profile High, level 4.1

avs2yuv is NOT used never for x264 encoding (only is used for x265 WHEN resize to 720p is required).

Try to play .avs script (located in temp folder) with VirtualDub or MPC-HC to find out if it's a Avisynth/source problem or x264/encoding problem.
