Any info on "iVCD by Fl0ppy" custom matrix for XviD?

Does anyone know anything about this quantization matrix?

Does 'i' stand for interlaced maybe? Can it be used for progressive videos?

VCD Video can be:
¼ D1 NTSC (SIF) 352x240x29,97p 4:3
¼ D1 NTSC (SIF) 352x240x23,976p 4:3
¼ D1 PAL (SIF) 352x288x25p 4:3
so no interlaced. May be this is related to a software named iVCD.

iirc XviD had no interlaced encoding mode and custom quantization has nothing to do with interlaced or progressive,....

VCD used MPEG1 Video , xvid is MPEG4 (DVD MPEG2)...

the mentioned matrix seems to be an MPEG2 Matrix, I found some mentionig in another thread.

why are you asking, what do you want to do ? Encode a VCD? SVCD? DVD ?

At the time, I was testing various custom matrices when encoding DVDs, and this one produced quite a pleasing look (subjectively), so I was just curious.

As far as I can gather info. -its an MPEG2 Matrix, so "not for xvid"...

Ok, I did not know that. I had a folder with a huge number of custom matrices, and I thought they were all suitable to be used with XviD.

Nowadays, I just use the default H.263 matrix in combination with various AviSynth filters.

I was/am encoding an MPEG-4 ASP (XviD) video stream from a DVD source. A DVD rip made with XviD codec.
