Looking at the info about this release, it has an English soundtrack, so why the worry about subtitles?

I wasn't hopeful but thought I would try it. Comparing the MPLS files, that was the only difference. Virtually identical.

Like I said, there was a flag that was not set properly and that was it.

English is the commentary track. This movie is not dubbed. Language is Japanese with English subtitles only.

Although the soundtrack is in English, but, if English is not your mother tongue and although you both understand, speak and write fairly well English, English subtitles are an excellent support, just sayin'...

In the end I answer myself, I have managed to do the complete conversion from BD to UHD "full backup" with custom resize and with nvec encoder main 10 h265, recorded on disk and played on Xbox One perfectly. Where can I find the hidden commands that do not appear in HIDDENOPTS. TXT? I found these commands by reading you

Your problem is similar to my problem, BD-Rebuilder is not using proper values for subtitles in the output disc.

According to your logs your subtitle track is in "1200" but UHD Blu-ray specs for HDR video requires subtitle track in "12A0". Because of this your player does not "see" your subtitle track.

So, I decided to compare the MPLS playlist file from the original disc to the MPLS playlist created by BDR.

Under this section:

Hi, very weird indeed if that is the case, but we can agree that a subtitle placed at 1200 for HDR video would no be show in a proper UHD player.

I'm currently having the inverse situation, original BR is using 1200 for subtitles in a SDR H265 playlist but BD-Rebuilder is using 12X0, resulting in missing subtitles when playing on my hardware player. Using BDEdit to manually correct the values works fine.

An SDR H265 playlist? I haven't looked in a while, and I'll have to go back and check... but I didn't think H265 was allowed for SD content. I may be wrong, though. I know it works, as I have a switch that allows it, but for some reason I thought it had to be H264.

What error was it? PredictAndEncode just tells me what routine it was in. The numbers tell me the error number and where it happened.

OK, rework of the Godzilla title was interesting. This time around, the title did not fail encoding. What did catch my eye was that the config file was set for 45+ GB as the target. But, in the end, it was only 37 GB. That was a big miss. As originally reported, the subtitles were not seen. The subtitle playback was set to on at movie start. So, the bug is confirmed.

The sizing isn't an issue. That's just as large as it could make it using CQM -- you'll note that the CQM value used was 1 -- that's the highest quality possible -- meaning it is pretty much identical to the original. To me that just means that a ridiculously high bitrate was used on the original.

I'll have to look at the subtitle problem... probably an issue with the PID.

Hi,

Wondered if someone could help - attempting to backup Nosferatu (2024) and it's failing. It actually failed quite a few times during the process with error code "PredictAndEncode() 00075 2809" - I've tried restarting from scratch, but had the same outcome.

I then tried resuming from the previous job each time it failed, which felt like it was working; it eventually got up to the 100% but failed to rebuild with error code "TSMUXER ERR: 0xFFFFFFFE - Failed in attempt to multiplex: MUX_MOVIE_ONLY.meta"

It's one of those movies/discs that has multiple parts, rather than just one m2ts file - not sure if this is the issue, but I've not had this problem before.
