no,no Dave.
like i posted here before,
cell 01 have only one audio track(080-ac3 2 channels)
--->but in complete silence!

cell 02 to cell 08 have:
080 -ac3 2ch and
081 -ac3 5.1ch.

in the cell 2 the sound came before(out of sinc with the video
and remember that cell 1 is in complete silence)
in the final of each cell, when his own audio end,
came 5 seconds from the begining of the next cell!
the next cell in this case, came without the initial 5 seconds
of his own audio that was left in the previous cell.

the worse: the begining of cell 2 is silence too,
but the overall audio of cell 2 is out of sinc.
than i don't know if in the end of cell 1,
have the begining of cell 2....maybe yes.

ahhh....sorry my poor english Dave!
i was clear now or turn it all more confuse?

if needed, i redo all again....no lazy here!
the percistence take us to success!

Do you mean that when you watch your project with a software player, in the first cell there's just an available audio stream?
Really, I've never seen something like that, I've always thought it was not DVD-compliant...

yes,it's true Dave.

see the time of cell 1 that i posted:
pcg_1 (use vob ids: 1)
[cell 01] [vc id: 1/1] time00:13.16 pos: 00:13.16 frames 406
cell 1 have only 13.16 seconds!
is the "advertences" like "FBI disclaimer"...in complete silence!

cell 2 is the "paramont presents"...little movie/logo with 21.23 seconds

cell 3 is the movie apresentation
one cell with 05.10 seconds and
another cell with 01minute and 12.12 seconds

than came the menu(between cell 3 and cell 4)
the menu is in vts_01_0.vob with 1,60mb size.

cell 4 have the 4 short cartoons that can be choosed in menu.

the extras, sound choices, etc are in another 2 vobs
(vts_02_1.vob and in vts_03_1.vob)

is strange but the "disclaimer" and "paramont"
are in the vts_01_1.vob and
cell 1(diclaimer),have only one audio track,
the remainders have 2 audio tracks!

really confused dvd, don't?

ps:
i forgot...
i have another 4 differents dvds from the same cartoon producer.
the vobs have the same groups.
the menu, extras, sounds are the same too,
only change the stories of the cell 4 in vts_01_1.vob!

I'm just shooting in the dark, but when you ripped this DVD on your HD, did you checked the option "Remove PUOs"? In DVDDecrypter there are 2 kind of options: Remove IFO/BUP PUOs and Remove VOB PUOs, and you can find them in preferences ---> File mode / IFO mode / ISO Read mode.
Try checking all of them: maybe the second audio track is just "locked".
Let me know.

no Dave, no one of them.
was ripped as "mode-file" and the remainders adjusts as "default".
Remove IFO/BUP PUOs and Remove VOB PUOs are default unchecked!

i'm ripping the dvd again like your recomendations!
thanks.

Dave,
i "trash" everything and re start from zero!
did the rip like posted and in the final....

just the same...out of sincro!

now i will do like i told you:
demux the vobs as cells,
then i left alone the cell 1 and
do the "job" from cell 2 to cell 8
with the new audio to see what happens,ok?

hey Dave,

what i did(works for a while):
pass 1 of the guide like posted....

--->then left alone the cell 1 in another folder.

renamed the vts_01_002.vob to vts_01_008.vob
as vts_01_1.vob to vts_01_7.vob !
did the new audio mp2!

pass 4 of the guide (new dvd author)without celltimes
using the 3 audios and the .m2v files!

the result was open in powerdvd
opening (dvd from hd,not as file)using the video_ts.ifo
created after pass 4 (new dvd author):

perfect sincro in all the movie with the 3 audios !

..now,i'm thinking:
how i "clue" it all together with the cell 1 (first part)?!?!

Use a celltimes.txt instead: take the celltimes.txt created as explained in step 3, delete the first value and subtract it from all the following values. Then open your authored VOBs with MenuEdit and change the V/C IDs to reproduce the original sequence (but of course starting from cell 2, since you left cell 1 in another folder).
Adjust in the same way the V/C ID in cell 1 (it should already be 1/1).
Cell 1 should be already named VTS_01_001.VOB, then rename the new authored VOBs (with the new audio) starting from VTS_01_002.VOB.
Open VTS_01_001.VOB and Join CellVob Files.
Follow steps 8 to 11 in the guide.
I'm not sure it's going to work, but give it a try

Dave,
i did like posted...
everything is working but the chapters are in wrong place,
they came before the point after the menu!

observations:
after the menu when the movie start in pcg_4,
i see round 1 second from the final of the pcg_3.
remember that the menu is between pcg_3 and pcg_4!
the remainder is working:
menu,extras the 3 audios...etc!

...then the celltimes that i did must be wrong!
see the "new" celltimes(without cell 1) and correct please,
i can't think in another error:

653
813
2825
14995
27727
40280
45848

vts_pgc_2 653 653 653
vts_pgc_3 160 653+160 813
2172 653+2172 2825
vts_pgc_4 12130 2825+12130 14995
24902 2825+24902 27727
37455 2825+37455 40270
42659 2825+42659 45848

thanks!

I think you missed this part of my post
So you have to subtract 406 (frames in your PGC 1) from all the values:
Code:
                    new celltimes.txt
653 -406 = 247
813 -406 = 407
2825 -406 = 2419
14995 -406 = 14589
27727 -406 = 27321
40280 -406 = 39874
45848 -406 = 45442
I hope now it works!

i did and the chapters still out of place!

Dave,
correct me if i'm wrong:

the last celltimes that you posted,
was using my last celltimes as reference, don't?
then it is wrong cos my last is wrong too,
this is the original celltime:
(see your second post in the first page)

406,1059,1219,3231,15361,28133,40686,45890

than the new celltimes will be (i think):
653
813
2825
14995
27727
40280
45484

right or wrong?

another problem that i have:
like i posted before,
menuedit crash if i try to open vobs
with more than ~870mb!
don't find any reason.
it crash even if i try to open any original vob
from all dvds that i have!

same result Dave!

the chapters still out of place (remainder ok!).

after hours thinking...
why the chapters are wrong?!?!?

i open the vts_01_1.vob from the original dvd and
from the new authored in vdubmod to find differences.
nothing is wrong...,
using "edit-go to" in vdubmod, the frames and time are the same
in the vobs...nothing different, same image in the same frame, same time!

then i open the cell 1 (from step 5 of the guide)
and save as uncompressed rgb with vdubmod!
did the same with the cell 2.
now, see differences:

cell 1 as 1.avi show in "vdubmod-file information"
video stream-lenght-403 frames-00:13.44
audio stream-lenght-480768 samples-00:10.01---<time is different of video

cell 2 as 2.avi show in "vdubmod-file information"
video stream-650 frames-00:21.68
audio lenght-1041040 samples-00:21.68---<the same time of video

could be this different time on the audio from the cell 1
that give the overall error in the chapters?
have a way to "delete playback" in the cell 1 after reauthoring?

thanks Dave.....hard work, don't?!

What's happened here? wasn't it 406 frames?
Quote:

To be honest, I don't know, but it seems strange to me, since chapters are based on video frames, not on audio.
Quote:

If you are going to delete the playback of the first cell, what about replacing it with a blank one (since it seems to be the one that causes every problem...)? Of course it makes sense to do it if, starting from cell 2, synchro and chapter points are OK...
Use BlankVob to create a blank cell. Rename it to VTS_01_001.VOB and use it instead of the one you already have in step 7. Before doing step 10 open your original VTS_01_0.IFO, go to VTS_PGCITI ---> PGC_1 and edit Playback Time (BCD) and Cell 1: playback time to 82 for PAL and to 213 for NTSC. Then go through the mock strip and the rest of the guide.
I hope it finally works, let's cross fingers, but having the first cell without audio it's really strange...

Dave,
i will kill this cartoon!

without cell 1 nothing is change, the chapters errors remains the same!

well,i'm using this cartoon cos the size is short (1,72gb full size)
comparing with other dvds, but give me big headache!

--->with or without the cell 1 after the menu i got:
(yes, you can remove cell 1 and nothing change after menu)
chapter 1 start ~4 seconds before the right point.
chapter 2 start ~15 sconds before the right point.
chapter 3 start ~27 seconds before the right point.
chapter 4 start ~40 seconds before the right point.

"What's happened here? wasn't it 406 frames?"
yeah,have only 403 in cell 1 and 650 in cell 2!
the right values are 406 and 653!

i will try to find the values of time/frames "by hand"!
can't think in another way!

I'm really happy for you!
It seems like you picked a strange DVD! Now the other ones you'll do will look like a breeze!
I'm curious: how did you do?

@ Dave:
first....obrigado, gracia, thanks!

you're amazing friend with big patience and great knowledge!

now...shame on me:
believe,i did and forgot how i did and was needed restart
everything writing each pass till the end working from zero!
i had lots of folders from tests and forgot the passes!

please,
correct my words(poor english)or something wrong in this guide
that was made following your recomendations in this thread!

@ all:
my source is a dvd with 2 audio streams and the
first cell of the main movie had only one audio stream!
this was build for this case, with others dvds follow the Dave's guide!

i did one folder for each step, was easy to follow!

starting:
doing Celltimes:

A- Open your VTS_??_0.IFO with IFOEdit,
go to VTS_PGCITI and for each VTS_PGC_? click on File
---> Save celltimes to file as CellTimes.txt
If your titleset has got only 1 PGC, skip to step 1., otherwise go to step B.

B- Open the first CellTimes.txt with a text editor and append to it
the values of the second one increased by the last value of the first *.txt.
Append each CellTimes file, increasing its values by the
current last number of the first file.
---> Save as CellTimes.txt

1- open in vobedit the vts_??_1.vob and choose
demux--> cell id--> demux complete title set .
click OK and choose the destination folder. Click "Save".

2- left alone the cell 1 (vts_??_001.vob) in the folder!
---> cell 1 will use used later in step 9 !
take the remainders cells (from vts_??_002.vob to the last cell)to another folder.

3- Open these new VOBs with Menu Edit and using "Change ID"
reproduce the original VOB/cell ID sequence
---> remember:starting from cell 2!
(you find it in the VTS overview of your original VTS_??_0.IFO).
Pay attention: the sequence must continue through the VOBs!

4- rename all vobs from vts_??_002.vob to the last cell
from vts_??_1.vob to vts_??_x.vob . ( "x" means:last cell )

5- Open your VTS_??_1.VOB with VOBEdit, click on Demux,
check "Demux all Video streams" and "Demux all audio streams",
click OK and choose the destination folder. Click "Save".
*---> remember:left cell 1 alone, we will use it later!

6- recomendations if your new audio will be mp2 :
using BeSweet or HeadAC3he to encode mp2,
normalize to 97% or the new audio will give too loud volume
comparing with the ac3 from the source!

* hint: encode your new audio mp2 at the same bitrate
of the ac3-2channels or it can give sincro problems.(don't know why)

7- celltimes for this vobs:
take the CellTimes.txt created as explained in step A(doing Celltimes),
delete the first value and subtract this value from all the following values.
---> save as celltimesX.txt

8- Open IFOEdit and click on DVD Author ---> Author new DVD.
Input all your streams (the new audio too) and the new
---> CellTimesX.txt,
select the destination directory and click OK.
Delete the new IFOs, keep only the new VOBs.

9- take the cell 1 (vts_??_001.vob) from step 2 !
rename cell 1 as VTS_01_1.VOB,
then rename the new authored VOBs (with the new audio)
starting from VTS_01_2.VOB.
Open VTS_01_1.VOB in vobedit and click
demux--> cell id--> demux complete title set .
click OK and choose the destination folder. Click "Save".

10- Open these new VOBs with Menu Edit and using "Change ID"
reproduce the original VOB/cell ID sequence
(you find it in the VTS overview of your original VTS_??_0.IFO).
Pay attention: the sequence must continue through the VOBs!

11- Open IFOEdit and click on DVD Author ---> Author new DVD.
Input all your streams (the new audio too) and the
---> CellTimes.txt,
select the destination directory and click OK.
Delete the new IFOs, keep only the new VOBs.

12- Take the VOBs and put them in your original
VIDEO_TS folder overwriting the existing VOBs
(it's a good idea to make a backup of the
entire folder before you replace the VOBs).

13- Open VTS_??_0.IFO with IFOEdit.
Go to VTSI_MAT and increase the number of audio streams in VTSTT_VOBS by 1.
Go to VTS_PGCITI and for each VTS_PGC edit the new audio stream status:
double click on it and insert a number which is the conversion from
hexadecimal to decimal of the stream number followed by 00.
observations:
the first cell in my dvd had only the first audio stream (80),
i encrease more 2 audios streams(81 and 82) like the reminders cells!

Examples:

code:
Stream HEX value Decimal value

..80.........8000...........32768

..81.........8100...........33024

..82.........8200...........33280

Edit audio stream properties in VTS overview.
SAVE and close.

12- Open VTS_??_0.IFO again, click on "VOB extras",
we are going to do a mock strip.
Select "Strip streams", "Correct Vob-Unit (Navigation Pack) pointers in VOB files"
and "correct original IFOs". Uncheck "Autocopy menu-files to destination".
Click OK, check all your streams and click Strip it.
Let IFOEdit process all your files.

13- Put all these files from IFOEdit in your VIDEO_TS folder and it should be OK!
(I tested this method with PowerDVD and DVD Shrink too).

14- end!

tested 2 times starting from zero (step 1)!

working perfect...menus,chapters,audio streams,extras...everything!
