If I'm not wrong, ReStream dump the first set of matrices in the file. If the mpeg2 switch matrices at GOP level (like some encoders do) you can't log them all. With DGIndex, enabling "Log quantizer matrices" you can dump all the matrices used by the mpeg2.

Who? The one called Fox 1 (aka Fox Home Theater) first showed up in a collection of XviD matrices as far as I know. It was obviously sourced from a 20th Century Fox DVD. I don't know the person that first made it available. The how has been explained elsewhere in this thread. It was probably done using ReStream as I don't believe DGIndex had that ability then.
The ones called Fox 2 and Fox 3 were supplied by me for Rockas's add-on to DVD-Rebuilder. Fox 2 I got from a DVD. Fox 3 I created from pieces of two others. I believe it was Hank that gave all three of them the names used in his encoder. The idea was that each compressed the video more than the one before (output a smaller file size), for the same quant value. |

AVInaptic. You need to put the raw stream in an MKV container. You'll see only matrices that differs from "Flat". So, basically, Flat matrix used -> no info about matrices. Something different -> values of 8x8/4x4 intra/inter matrices.
