AVI Format on DVD With Menu Function
Is It Possible to keep the AVI Format and have an animated DVD menu to select your AVI's from on a DVD disc?
Sortof like with nero's animated menu for dvd format but now for AVI format on DVD disc?

Ok, i was under the impression AVI=Divx.
So what program would i use to do this then as not to re-convert it to DVD format? All The programs out there with Animated movie selection menu function wants to convert the avi format back to DVD format.

Simple, because a Divx-player is not a PC, you can't use all the "tricks" you may use on a PC. Usually it's the player that has a built-in menu (you select a divx item and press play/Ok).
On the other hand, the DVD/BD/VCD/SVCD/HDDVD are designed to have a menu, and a hardware player has to follow the standard, ie to use that menu. Creating a menu, putting all the items together (muxing), establishing navigation - that is called authoring. And you can't to my limited knowledge "author" a divx. |

Since HD video has been around for years and isn't going away, you may as well author to Bluray (or HD-DVD for a small space savings). You get the menus instantly with any player that supports HD discs, and they work on all current and future hardware, instead of the couple menu-enabled DivX players that aren't even made anymore and proprietary pc/mac software.
