I don't think it will ever be an option in the Camera app, which is very restricted in options, but it should be one of the built-in system codecs now, so other apps can use it. And it should decode if you open a video with it in, say, Photos. https://developer.android.com/refere...TYPE_VIDEO_APV

Perhaps not in the Android Camera app, but it would make a lot of sense for Samsung to release some kind of Pro camera app that could support the codec for high fidelity recording. An equivalent to ProRes on iPhone Pros.
