How can I select 4 jpg images randomly from 6-8 pieces of images?

I have 6-8 photos, or more. I would like in my AviSynth script to choose randomly from them exactly 4 different pieces - no repeat of course -, and then processing only those images according to the script. In many programming languages this is simple, only 1 function, for example .sample(4) But how is it possible in AviSynth, if there are no built-in array type?
