Web video codecs comparison with the jVQA tool

Hello,

I have just published a modest comparison of x265, vp9, x264 (HiP vs. CBP, SSIM-RDO vs. Psy-RDO), vp8, xvid and theora by PSNR, SSIM, Fast SSIM, GMSD and SG-Sim using my jVQA tool.

The comparison is at http://estevao.altervista.org/video/codecs.htm

The jVQA tool was presented at http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=172876

More information about the metrics and tools are in my home page http://estevao.altervista.org

I realize this is a very simple demonstration, as a single reference video was used, at a single SD resolution.

I intend to later add encoding times for comparison, and x265 at a slower preset for a fairer comparison to vp9.

Comments are welcome.

Edit 20-03-2016: Encoding times added.

Fixed a bug in the plots that was causing x265 HQ to overlap with x264 Baseline HQ Psy-RDO.
