Handbrake framerates

Hello,

I'm copying my favourite blu-rays to a HDD in mkv to watch on a TV. I'm a bit confused about the framerate options in handbrake (variable/constant). Searching brings up conflicting info but mostly seems to favour constant framerates but the 'High profile' setting is variable so I thought that must produce better quality.

I'm not editing the films or anything so which is the best to select?

Variable frame rate is only recommended for anime movies, use constant for the rest.
