How many disc layers?
I am burning a custom UHD BD with a size of 60 GB to a 3 layer 100 GB disc. Should I set the layer size to 3 so it fits to the disc properly (layer 3 would be empty) or set the layer size to 2 so the data fits properly?

Burning means you would want to write to a BD-R XL 100GB.
As of 2023 there might be very few players around which will play all 3 layers, and only a few which will play the first 2 layers from a TL BD-R. I just searched for a quick tip, you may extend your search. https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/view...=100GB#p140898 I guess number of layers = 3 to match the physical disc. Let us know what you find out about playability.
