If the source allows, then LSFmod can be a good sharpener, or SeeSaw can be a good sharpener, or Sharpen() can be a good sharpener, or MedianSharp can be a good sharpener, or WarSharp can be a good sharpener, or or or ...
However, depending on the source, LSFmod can be a bad sharpener, or SeeSaw can be a bad sharpener, or Sharpen() can be a bad sharpener, or MedianSharp can be a bad sharpener, or WarpSharp can be a bad sharpener, or or or ...

If you are still targeting the abysmal quality in these screen shots then any sharpener will do - like blur(-1.0).
As a nice side effect, the sharpener will enhance the visibility of the macro blocks you seem to like. Last edited by Groucho2004; 13th June 2012 at 14:13. |

A static picture does not help. We need a well picked short video sample to be able to give more comprehensive advice than "use xy for clean sources and xy for noisy sources".
And yes, those screenshots look ugly, not in my dreams I would call this a decent encode, it's crap. Last edited by TheSkiller; 13th June 2012 at 22:35. |
