which is the best Bluetooth tws and how to use it on Android 14 smartphone.

Hi I am Rupesh from India and I have purchased android 13 smartphone called One Plus Nord CE 3 which has Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 G processor and 8 GB Ram. Most of the time I use my phone to listen music. Previously before buying one plus I have used LG G7 Plus Thinq which has Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 cpu and hifi quad DAC and aux port. The new One Plus Phone doesn't have aux port.

Listening music in LG G7 Plus Thinq was very nice because it has quad DAC and aux port. There's no chance of degrade in the output through earphones.

But at present I have One Plus Nord CE 3 which came with Android 13 and I have upgraded to Android 14 but unfortunately it doesn't have aux port and so if I want to connect earphones I must use type c adapter. I have brought a low price type c adapter and connected earphones through it. The quality of the output is lower than the one which I got while using LG G7 Plus Thinq.

So I searched for other ways and found Bluetooth tws and so I have brought realme buds air 3 neo. The quality of the output is still lower than the one which I got while using LG G7 Plus Thinq.

Yesterday one of my friend gifted me Bluetooth tws called apple air buds pro 1st generation which was manufactured in 2019 and connected to my one plus Nord ce 3. Actually I have connected the same apple air buds pro in my neighbour apple iPhone and the output is greater than the one which I got while using LG G7 Plus Thinq.

When I connect the same apple air buds pro in my present Android 14 one plus Nord ce 3 the output is not the same as I got in apple iPhone.

In apple iPhone I have seen some settings such as spatial audio but I can't find such settings in my present Android 14 one plus Nord ce 3.

Another issue is both realme buds air 3 Neo and apple air buds pro are by default using AAC codec with 16 bit depth but my phone supports Qualcomm aptx, LDAC, AAC and other three options with bit depths 16, 24, 32 etc.,.

I think that there's no proper support or configuration for apple air buds pro in Android smartphone. But there is full support for apple air buds in all apple devices like iPhone, iPod, iMac etc.,.

At present I have both Bluetooth tws systems Apple Air Buds Pro and Realme Buds Air 3 Neo and so which is the best one among the two.

If you think listening music through earphones and type c adapter may I know which is the best low price type c adapter. Here I have high resolution dual dynamic mi earphones.

If you think apple air buds pro is the best choice is there any way to configure them like selecting Spatial surround sound, Dolby Atmos etc.,. I have used androbuds app but I am not satisfied. Is there any app to configure apple air buds pro better in Android 14.

Is there any way to force all Bluetooth tws systems to use Qualcomm aptx because it provides output with high quality. Is there any way to select the bit depth higher than 16 bit in AAC mode.

Any links or documents for the newcomer like me regarding Bluetooth tws systems are helpful.

As I am newcomer I have expressed my thoughts which may be wrong.

Kindly suggest which is the best way to listen music on Android 14 smartphone which doesn't have aux port. I mean is it preferable to use earphones through type c adapter or use any Bluetooth tws buds.

Regards,
Rupesh.

The Apple USB-C dongle is surprisingly good, especially for the price:
https://www.audiosciencereview.com/f...adapters.5541/

If you want other options there are good reviews here:
https://www.audiosciencereview.com/f...rm&o=relevance

If you need more power I have a Hidizs S9 USB-C DAC that I am happy with and it reviewed well.

Edit: If you want to use bluetooth, get headphones that support LDAC.

First things first, Android 14 actually supports spatial audio just fine and I've been testing it on my Google Pixel 6 Pro, so the problem ain't Android but rather what you're pairing it with.

I'm not a big fan of Atmos or spatial audio in general, though, and most often than not I feel like it's overdone and artificially pumped, thus making the experience of listening to a song worse than it would have been on plain old stereo, especially on headsets. It would make sense for things like movies if you're watching something that was mastered in 5.1.4 'cause the downmix would probably be better, but songs? Ew. No, thank you. Trust me.

No, both devices must be capable of supporting it and if and only if they are, then you can choose which codec is negotiated in the developers option in Android, however keep in mind that the receiving end must be able to decode it in the first place and, most often than not, if it's not negotiated by default, it means that it's not able to decode it. (TL;DR automatic negotiation generally picks the highest possible option by default anyway, so if you have, let's say, aptX and SBC, it won't pick SBC, however if the other device doesn't support aptX it will fall back on SBC which is probably what you're experiencing right now).

Do you mean aptX or aptX HD?
The reason why I'm asking is that there's a big difference between the two and, if it does happen to be aptX and NOT the HD variant, the I would go for a Sony headset that supports LDAC as it's better.
I mean, a Sony's LDAC stream at 16bit 44100Hz 900 kbit/s is really good.
It would still be lossy, of course, but compared to the 16bit 44100Hz 384 kbit/s aptX and the 44100Hz 320 kbit/s AAC - both of which are lossy anyway - it would be better, so I would go for the Sony variant, so LDAC.

Hi I can't find the options spatial sound in my present Android 14 one plus Nord ce 3 phone.

Hi I have found the following options in developer options under title Trigger Bluetooth Audio Codec
1) Use system selection
2) SBC
3) AAC
4) Qualcomm aptx audio
5) Qualcomm aptx HD audio
6) LDAC
7) LHDC
8) Qualcomm aptx Adaptive audio
9) Qualcomm aptx TWS+ audio

However listening music through apple air buds pro is somewhat better than realme buds air 3 Neo. But this particular apple buds was manufactured in 2019 and realme buds are manufactured in 2023.

Can you suggest which is preferable among the two.

Also can you suggest is there any benefit in selecting apple usbc dongle and mi dual dynamic earphones than listening through apple air buds pro.

Yesterday I have tried to recharge apple air buds pro and waited upto 85 minutes but I have not seen any indication in apple air buds charging case that the device is fully charged. How much time does it take to recharge the apple buds air pro to 100 percent.

Hi someone said that inorder to spatial audio work Android smartphone must support Dolby Atmos.

Yes my smartphone has Dolby Atmos and it's enabled.

I have installed power amp Equalizer which provides presets like rock, soft, pop, soft bass, bass etc.,.

Is it possible to run Dolby Atmos and power amp Equalizer at the same time.

Dolby Atmos do not have any presets which power amp Equalizer has and so I have installed power amp Equalizer.

Another interesting thing is that power amp Equalizer has presets like Apple AirPods (Rtings earbud), Air buds (Inner Fidelity in-ear) etc.,.

What does Rtings earbud and Inner Fidelity in-ear mean and is there any relationship between those presets and apple air buds pro.

Don't use equalisation apps. Most often than not they take cheap shortcuts and they perform some very poor post processing. Soundtracks have already been mastered to play correctly on the overwhelming majority of the devices, so there's no need to mess with those unless you really know what you're doing.
About Atmos, that's an object based representation, however, in order to use the equaliser, Atmos is rendered into stereo PCM, then the equalisation is applied and then the stream is encoded and passed to the headsets, which is bad.
Oh and this is in the best case scenario; worse case, it ignores the objects and only records the beds (i.e the tracks making up the base).
That being said, there's quite literally nothing to be excited about Atmos in music as I explained before.

Now about the headsets, why are you insisting on using Apple products on Android? It's just a bad idea.
As I was saying, go for a high quality Sony headset that supports LDAC and you're gonna be fine.

Last but not least, USB C provides a digital output, which means that you still need a DAC to convert the signal to a classic jack for the headsets. In other words, music via USB C can be better if your DAC is of high quality and it can therefore be better than a lossy Bluetooth one.

Thanks for your suggestions as you said I searched for Sony ldac headphones but unfortunately I have not found any products from Sony which provides ldac spec.

Usbc dongles or adapters start from 8 dollars to 150 dollars. Among them I found the following from Apple which costs below 10 dollars.

”USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter”

It is from Apple which I can trust it's quality.

Many of you suggested that Apple AirPods are developed for apple devices and not for Android devices does it mean it is better to choose other Bluetooth TWS system and throw away apple airpods pro.

Hi is there any usb type c to 3.5 mm aux with quad dac.

Upon reading your suggestions I learnt that using Equalizers and Dolby Atmos is of no use at any time whether listening music through dac and earphones or through Bluetooth TWS systems.

I will check it weather it is true or not.

Where did you search? XD
Sony has been providing LDAC headsets over the last 4 years now...
Even the Sony WH-1000XM4 from 2020 had it, so do the Sony WH-1000XM5 from 2022 and of course it's basically guaranteed that it's gonna be in the new Sony WH-1000XM6 as well which are gonna be released later on in the summer this year.

Honestly, what do you expect from an 8 dollars DAC? XD
I don't actually know any reputable brands so I'm a bit hesitant to suggest something here. I did however buy one in 2021 to connect to my Pixel for £47 (around $60) and it did work fine for the time being, however my good old headsets broke after several years of service (for a totally unrelated cause) and I haven't used it ever since.

The problem with Apple doing stuff for the Apple ecosystem is that we have quite literally no way of knowing how it will handle the handshake. This means that it's very likely that they will end up negotiating SBC when talking to a non Apple device, thus making this whole thing useless.

It is, trust me. Atmos is great for movies, but not for music, especially 'cause you can bet anything you want that the tracks were originally mastered in plain old stereo and then someone upmixed them adding a something here and there and thus not only making it useless but potentially making it worse.
I've been fighting against Atmos in music. I mean, I'm not against it and I'm all up for it in productions like when they record live concerts etc, but studio recorded tracks being upmixed? No thank you.

Thank you so much FranceBB for giving right suggestions with lots of patience.

At present I am not going to buy Sony ldac but in future I will buy.

I have tried to listen music through two Bluetooth TWS systems I have ie., Apple AirPods pro and realme buds air 3 Neo and the output from realme is better than Apple AirPods pro. Apple airpods pro provided output with surround sound with some nuisance.

I believed in what you ie., using equilizer like power amp and Dolby Atmos is of no use so I have uninstalled power amp and disabled Dolby Atmos and the output is better than before.

At present I will use realme buds air 3 Neo Bluetooth TWS and disable or uninstall all equilizer apps and after some days I will buy high quality usbc dongle or else I will buy Sony ldac headphones.

My last question is ”is there any usb type c to 3.5 mm aux converter available which has quad DAC”

Hi I have ordered realme buds air 5 pro TWS which supports LDAC and Bluetooth 5.3 and high resolution audio.

This product has LDAC and costs low price than all other Bluetooth TWS systems.
