InfoEdit - Menu Assistance

Hi Team,

I hope that someone can help me.

I have created some DVDs and have these in the VIDEO_TS folder and I had a title that first played which I did not want. So I have used PGCEdit and taken away that title as first play. I removed all the Jumps that did not go anywhere and I deleted the VOB & Files that related to the title (in this case 3).

The only minor issue is that I have created an interactive menu and I notice when I have burned the disc that when inserting into drive for playing. Or indeed tested with the file structure in a player on the PC it just plays the film title. It does not seem to load with the menu and it would only do this if I select menu on the remote of the player or select in the drop down on the player on the PC.

So rather than having to remember all the time to select this it would be better for it to play the title page when disc is inserted. I have been looking at InfoEdit for this but can't work it out.

Any thoughts on this and if I have started the process correctly or if I should have done it a different way to maintain the menu? Just wanted to remove and delete a title or PGC that was not required.

Many thanks,
Richard

If compared on a software player:
Official players (PowerDVD) will adhere to the navigation and present the menu,
other players depending on their settings may tend to skip the menu and present straight what they guess is the main movie.
If your desired menu does not present on a hardware player, then you would have to correct the First Play navigation.

Do a trace in PGCEdit and see what happens from the time the disc is opened to the first time something is played (apparently bypassing the menu).

Unless trying to save space (like going from a DVD9 to a DVD5) there's not much point in removing the unwanted stuff, as you can just skip over it. To actually remove them without messing with the navigation I use VobBlanker.

Thanks very much for the feedback.
Yeah will likely just leave as is. Seems like a lot of hassle.
