mpv - Should I be using icc-profile-auto = yes?
After installing the drivers for my HP X24ih monitor provided by HP, I noticed that it also installed an ICC profile. Curious about how the colors would look without any profile, I removed this profile and tested it by playing the latest Kung Fu Panda movie. I immediately noticed that the reds were oversaturated, so I reinstalled the profile. With the profile installed, the colors appeared normal.
Additionally, I found in the documentation that mpv can automatically use the ICC display profile specified in my OS (Windows 10) settings if I set icc-profile-auto = yes. Should I enable this option? My mpv configuration was based on this guide (https://iamscum.wordpress.com/guides...uide/mpv-conf/) along with some configurations found on GitHub, and none of them mentioned anything about this option. |
