Video Bitrate of 60fps 4K?

Hello!

I want to ask this question. Sorry if here is wrong place.

What's the bitrate of a 4K video at 60fps? With 4K I mean 3840 × 2160 resolution.

I know that there is an uncompressed and a compressed version. And different compression methods gives different bitrate results. So I would lik you to tell me the bitrate of the uncompressed one and then the bitrate of the compressed one according to the method you know.

I'm asking this question because I want to buy some harware and I want to check the maximum video bitrate that the device can process.

Thank you in advance for the time you took to read this text and to answer my question.

Best,

raw, uncompressed ( yv12 format, typical for bluray, video cameras etc) : 12 bits per pixel x resolution x frames = 12 x 3840 x 2160 x 60 = 5,971,968,000 bps = 5,971,968 kbps = 711 MB/s

compressed with lossless compression (huffyuv, magicyuv, other codecs), depending on content complexity, usually 1:5 - 1:2 , so about 100-400 MB/s

with lossy compression... h264/avc would probably need around 60-80 mbps for great quality, 20-40mbps would work for youtube quality h265 / hevc would give great results with 50-70 mbps, probably will do youtube quality for 20-30 mbps.

You can do various tests using Virtualdub... open virtualdub, go to tools > create test video , then select the first 60 frames and go to Video > Filters and resize test video to 3840x2160 and now you have a 4k video that's 60 frames long. You can select codecs from the Video > Compression menu and when saving an avi file, you'll see how well each codec compresses. Though note that test videos are not really great examples as they probably compress well (computer generated, minimal noise etc)
