Ok, so its compression is between Lagarith and Huffyuv.
I read that Huffyuv was better than Lagarith for captures because it needs less CPU which could help to get less lost (dropped) frames during capture, despite its higher bitrate. And a compression in Lagarith can be done after to save space. The problem is that I can't make work Huffyuv correctly (the colorspace is always rgb even when I choose yuy2, while I unticked "always suggest rgb"), that's why I was interested by ffvHuff. But I guess that if I use ffdshow for ffvHuff encoding, the ffvHuff version used will be quiet old because ffdshow seems abandoned.
No in fact, I just see there is a new version ; http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout/ |

a. normally 'reset defaults' is not needed (at least I try to keep everything compatible)
b. this time uninstallation is recommend since the file locations changed (see changelog) to avoid problems when Visual C++ 2010 or 2013 runtime aren't installed So resetting defaults doesn't hurt, not cleaning the Hybrid folder might. |

Man, this program looks great but... Another try installing on Windows 8.1: 1. Installed fine and working. YEY! Immediately updated Intel HD 4000 driver to the latest OEM (15.33.22.64.3621) and... Can't launch Hybryd anymore LOL! It can't find msvcP120.dll. I copied 2 files from Dynamic and DynamicX to SysWOW64 and System32 flders and it worked. 2. Decided to doublecheck again and uninstalled Hybrid (fully with Uninstall manager). Installed again (as admin) and... this time it couldn't launch because couldn't find msvcR120.dll! Funny As I found out this time it was missing just in a folder SysWOW64. Update: Reinstalled driver Intel HD 15.33.22.64.3621 on Windows 7 and it worked now. Could somebody tell me if it is possible to encode video in LOSSLESS with Hybrid? Last edited by Ajvar; 10th July 2014 at 02:36. |

Thank you. I will use one of those encoders for lossless.
I did not have any older version of Hybrid. As I told I installed it on 2 freshly installed OS: Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. And as for a program which is complaining about dll... it is Hybrid_2014.7.3.1 It ass complaining about dlls. Some error message like qaas is empty or smth like that. Now it seems launch fine even if I move those files from Windows folder so I just happy that it works. Last edited by Ajvar; 10th July 2014 at 08:25. |
