BD-Rebuilder: grossly undersized + missing subtitles ?
Hi, I'm relatively new to BD-Rebuilder, and after trying for several days of trying different FFDSHOW's and hesitantly installing WMP11, I managed to go from "Encode aborted" to a finished mkv.
But now, the finished mkv is grossly undersized. Whether I select output as BD-5 or BD-9, the result is still a 1.7GB mkv. Though it plays just fine, but its missing the subtitles (I selected to keep about 5 of 20). Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? @Spixe
Hi! I've got to ask you, where did you find a commercial BluRay of "D-Tox" ("Eye See You"), one of the poorest grossing movies ever (Worldwide theater gross $79,000 - Yes, thousand!), despite stars like Sylvester Stallone and Tom Berrenger? After seeing your post, I did a fairly thorough search of the Internet, with no success (regarding a commercial BluRay)... |

Code:
- Added a new option "Other Movie-Only Ouput" to the MODE menu. This allows you to create other types of files (rather than BD). The current choices are for iPOD and iPAD (.MP4) files) and MKV output, but I expect to add other choices in future releases. The output to alternate formats does not attempt to reach target sizes, but instead uses a fixed CRF which can be set via the "ALTCRF=n" hidden parameter. The default value for ALTCRF is 21. BTW: I hate the title of your post. It sounds as if BD-RB is at fault, when in fact it isn't. Last edited by jdobbs; 19th August 2010 at 18:05. |

While converting from .sup to .srt can be a pain, its more tedious than difficult. It seems several movies over the past few months have had non-english dialog in an otherwise all english movie, these types of subtitles can be converted quite quickly. Even a movie that needs to be done completely isn't that bad once you start teaching the OCR how to identify each letter. Its movies like Tora! Tora! Tora! that make you want to pull your hair out. For an english speaking viewer, half the subs need to be removed (english speech) and the other half need to be converted (japanese speech). You have to be watching the movie and converting at the same time.
By the time I finished this movie, it will probably be another 20 years before I have an interest in watching it again. |
