I'll just note, for anyone who might want to pull down more recent libmpv (mpv-2.dll), he now builds 2 versions, & you would want the version that does not have "-v3" in the name.
Thanks for the info, do you know what's different?

-

There is a maintenance release available, it has two important bug fixes.

https://github.com/mpvnet-player/mpv.net/releases

I'm kind of in a similar situation than with staxrip, no longer using the application since I migrated to Linux in order to properly learn Linux.

I moved the project to https://github.com/mpvnet-player/mpv.net, opening it up for collaboration, in case somebody interested helping with maintenance and implementing Linux support.

Difference between x86_64 and x86_64-v3

x86_64-v3 build have these instructions enabled by default:
avx avx2 bmi bmi2 fma lzcnt movbe sse3 sse4 sse4.1 sse4.2 ssse3 xsave sahf mwait crc32 cx16 popcnt f16c

Cpu which dont have these features will fail to launch the x86_64-v3 build
So I guess it is more it may or may not work for a particular user.
(It didn't, for me.)

You have to use it, it's one of the best out there :-).

Just to note (mpv updated to an 0.35 release) & the libmpv (mpv-2.dll, from https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpv.../files/libmpv/) looks to be fine in mpv.net.

Not that I know what "dolby visision" is, per se... but if this is "dolby vision"...

https://developer.dolby.com/tools-me...ision-streams/

https://media.developer.dolby.com/Do..._15200kbps.mp4

then I don't know that you need to do anything "special" at all.

Simply open the file in mpv.net.

mpv.net v6.0.3.2-beta (just downloaded from releases)
iOS_P5_GlassBlowing2_1920x1080@59.94fps_15200kbps.mp4
Pink instead of red. And other color distortions.

As far as I remember, the same problem in mpv. There is something that needs to be forced to configure for such videos, which is very inconvenient, because I have different types of videos (SD, HD and others).
I would like to hear an explanation from the developers about this.

Sorry I don't know anything about HDR, Dolby Vision, 4k. I don't know how you can use settings in mpv.net but in mpv, to test latest fixes, you need to use gpu-next option (which allows the use of libplacebo).
In mpv, you need to have a line with vo=gpu-next in your config (mpv.conf)

For the original question, I'm letting the pros answer you (maybe nevcairiel has answers since he works on libplacebo).

Does mpv.net not support mpv player's environment variable MPV_HOME?

I mention MPV_HOME back here, http://forum.doom9.net/showthread.ph...64#post1944164.

Now where it's at currently, if actually used or not, not quite sure?

Though, mpv.net can use a /portable_config/ directory (within the program's "instalDir") to make a "portable" configuration (if you will).

I don't remember it, so probably not supported, I created a ticket for it here:

Is there a Mirror function?
Yes.
You can do something like this in input.conf
Code:
H vf toggle hflip
(Capital H was unused, so...
And you can do similar for a vertical flip, 'vflip'.)

Is this fork still being worked on, or should one look at others ?

I love .net, but obviously if another fork is now recommended then I'll naturally move over.

AFAIK, no ongoing work (at present ;-)), though I don't think you'll find a better (mpv) player then mpv.net (IMO).

Current libmpv is still working.
(Rename libmpv-2.dll to mpv-2.dll & replace the existing with that.)

Note that this breaks resume-on-playback for mpvnet, and possibly other things.

Took me forever to trace the problem to the .dll change, but had to roll back to the mpv-2.dll bundled with mpvnet.

Current libmpv [20231001] (mpv-2.dll, from https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpv.../files/libmpv/) does not look to work in 6.0.4?

I am on Win7, in case that matters.

Ah! It does look like it's going to be a Win7 issue!

Here, Windows 7 #12330.
(I like the second comment ;-).)

I am currently looking into the edl function and I did get it to work on mplayer relatively fast after a few trial&errors.

But I can't figure out the syntax in mpvnet ! Maybe I am just to blind to see the obvious.

So, to make it easy, I did put the video and the edl into the mpvnet-directory.

Fired up a consol and tried : mpvnet edl:// 01.edl
then: mpvnet edl://01.edl
then: mpvnet -edl:// 01.edl

So I thought that maybe it expects txt-files and tried the same again with 01.txt.

# mpv EDL v0
WhiteRabbitJeffersonAirplane.mp4,30,20
#

The video plays otherwise just fine. Does anyone maybe have any ideas ?

Does it play with mpv? In that case, it's likely a mpv.net bug.
