Standard Matrixs

Hi all,
for every matrix from RME exist a small tutorial,

[1-high_high(4000+).mtx]
Info1=aka Fox Home Entertainment. This or something very similar is used by the best studios for their best DVD releases
(Criterion, Warner, and Fox, among others). Bitrates above 4000.
Info2=Use only if the original DVD has overhead for compressing,
if a similar high bitrate matrix was used originally, and if you're not compressing too much.

[2-high_medium(4000).mtx]
Info1=A very good all-purpose and commonly used high-bitrate matrix. Bitrates around 4000.
Info2=Use only if the original DVD has overhead for compressing, if a similar high bitrate matrix was used originally,
and if you're not compressing too much.

ecc ecc

but for the standard (previous existent in matrix RB folder), were i can read a tutorial?

Encoder Default= ???bitrate?
Low Bitrate=???bitrate?
Mpeg Standard=???bitrate?
VeryLow bitrate=???bitrate?

P.S.
If i add 1 matrix for Main Feature Matrix, the same matrix worked only on the principal film, is right?
The others options (low bitrate-Very low bitrate-extra),
to what they serve?

When the average bitrate drops below 3000Kbs the "Low" matrix is used. When it drops below 2000Kbs the "Very Low" matrix is used.

Ok,
thank you very much Mr Rippraff,

but i not understand 1 of cases....

ther's 4 option that can enlarge with "+" :

Main Feature Matrix
Low Matrix
Very Low Matrix
Matrix for extras,

for example,
if i've a film with a bitrate of 3000kbs, by RB-pro default, i've selected under "Main Feature Matrix=Encoder Default",
"low bitrate=same as main features"
"V low bitrate=same as main features"
"Matrix for extras=same as main features" ,

ok, if the "main Feature Matrix" go to work only in the principal film(it is therefore?) , the others (low bitrate-very low bitrate-matrix for extras), where they will go to work?

I suppose
matrix for extras go to work on the extra....
low bitrate go to work on menù...

but i'm for nothing sure of this!

Yes, that's the easiest part.

No.

Maybe this way it's easier to understand:

Main Feature Matrix: average bitrate > 3000
(Main Feature) Low Matrix: 2000 < average bitrate < 3000
(Main Feature) Very Low Matrix: average bitrate < 2000

---------------------

Matrix for extras: Matrix for Extras

The first three matrices above are all related to the main movie and dependent on the avarage bitrate. Remember that RB devides the whole dvd in seperate segments. Each segment has an average bitrate and according to the rules the selected matrix will be used.

"Matrix for extras=same as main features"
This is not an example, this would mean no special matrices will be used, only the default one.
This is the standard setting.

ok,

control me, if i've understood please....

all the first tree options (main feature-low bitrate-V low bitrate) are all for the main movie, ok!

Rb- pro, devides the whole DVD in segments,
Each segment has an average bitrate and according to the rules the selected matrix will be used, ok.

Another better example
After the RB prepare fase, i've an overall - bitrate of 3.170kbs.

I set (example):
"Main Feature Matrix=5-Medium_Medium(2800-3500)"
"low bitrate=6-Medium_Low(2500-3200)"
"Very low Bitrate=8-Low_low(1800)"

In this example case, in the segments that have need an high compression/low bitrate, RB will use or the low bitrate or the very low bitrate....(setted before under "low bitrate=6-Medium_Low(2500-3200) and
Very low Bitrate=8-Low_low(1800)" )it is right?

In others segments with another bitrate, example low compression/high bitrate, RB will use the "main Feature(setted before) matrix-5-Medium_Medium(2800-3500)" !

ok?
please say me that it is exact.

Hi all,
for some problem i don't have used DVD Rebuilder Pro from the 1.26 version, now, i have found some new matrices options that is added in RB pro last version. These new options are:
High Bitrate Matrix (4000+)
Med High Bitrate Matrix (<4000)
Medium Bitrate Matrix (<3500)

these new matrices options, are again for the main feature video?

Another question,
the correct Matrix for Main Feature matrix is a matrix that work on the overall bitrate?

For example, if i have a Overall bitrate = 3000 (but i have about 4000 in other part of the video) the cunstom matrix for the main feature matrix option, will must be a matrix that work on bitrate about 3000 like "5-medium_medium(2800-3500)" or mus be a matrix that work on a high bitrate eg 1-High_high?

AnyBody can explain me?

If there's a tutorial for these new matrix options in DVD RB will be great, if nobody can't help me.

thanks
