Indeed, .mkv offers chapter navigation and naming, which is supported by many hardware playback devices (not so many TV's though). And it's a similar situation with .mp4 contained files...

Matroska offers more. The most important feature are "ordered chapters".

With this funtion and "chapter segment linking" you can create simple Matroska menus (like chapterEditor it do).

In next rev of chapterEditor, Matroska menu will be able to use "nested chapters". The menu structure looks than pretty and you can find better the episodes.
