I don't understand what you meant here.
Anyway, in your "FFMS2 VDub" vs "FFMS2 AvsPmod" comparison you are comparing same "bad" ebmp masks, that's why you can still see faint artifacts in "FFMS2 AvsPmod", because when you created ebmp with VDub [or StaxRip] those artifacts were burned into the masks.
So, for same reason "LSMASH A" vs "LSMASH B" comparison is pointless.

Only useful thing I can deduct from your tests is that FFMS2 in VDub/StaxRip doesn't work properly, and that probably it's OK in AvsPmod.

EDIT:
To remind what I posted before.

You can search Doom9 what means "not frame accurate", there was some program posted to test a source filter's frame accuracy.

EDIT2:
Another reminder.

I wanted to say that these two pictures...

And they never could be the same.
While skipping through frame by frame I never got that frame with the lines in AvsPmod. On the other hand I never got the frame without the lines in VDub.

The two bottom comparisons were just supposed to show that now with AvsPmod & LSMASH I (too) could create a better mask.

Still not sure though if AvsPmod/StaxRip/VirtualDub2 are also relevant factors here. That the same script (with the same imports) showed me two different frames @7445 here and that the shown frame was either exclusive to VDub or AvsPmod feels dubious.

Anyway... I got enough clues now why your deblending quality was much higher than mine originally and why the logo was "lively" for me but not for you.

Look at my post there, those lines are ghosts of the next frame, it's some quirks of frame inaccuracy. Let's say QTGMC requests frame 1200 but actually gets from a source filter 1190 then it would produce some garbage when deinterlacing.
Dunno why it happens, ask at FFmpegSource thread. In AvsPmod it looks OK but frames are offset by 2 frames vs LSMASH in your screenshots.
Did you tried LSMASH in VDub?

You talk of ghosts... I say the file is bewitched.

Seriously...
It's just insane.

My PC crashed with a bluescreen yesterday. (wtf?!)
After a restart frame 7445 doesn't show the lines in VirtualDub2 any more.
With the old mask. With ffms2. Using the old avs script I posted here.

Nevermind.
I'm sitting here... puzzled, frustrated... as I don't feel much wiser now after all those hours.
But let's call it a day.
Thank you so much for all your patience and support, VoodooFX!

Sorry for wasting your time.

Maybe the frame inaccuracy has random factor in it.

Nah, it's you who wasted time not deinterlacing to a lossless intermediate file.
Automask + Deblend analyze = up to 4 empty "deinterlaces", not counting encoding. Now multiply that with your tests you did.

kedautinh finally was able to properly delogo it, so time wasn't wasted.

PS:
Btw, if you wanna see pure deblend effect [to compare masks ect.] then set "Interp=0" & "dPP=0".

Add that parameters in step automask=1 or automask=0??

Automask doesn't do deblend.
"Automask=0" is not some "step", its 1 = On, 0 = Off.

Not my fault that they bother me with various logos you can imagine, and they want everything to be auto-one-click.

Talking about too many, started dumping stuff from my "dev" to "public" version, a small sneak peek from upcoming v3:

PS:
Can't remember for what that last param is...

That's very low, usually you need hundreds or thousands suitable frames to get good deblending masks [ebmp].
I doubt that you got a proper basemask [bmp] from this too. [upload it to gdrive]
You can try to analyze all frames with Analyze=3

Often in the short clips there are no good frames to analyze.
Maybe this evening I'll look at your video.

Well... who wouldn't want that?
I'm a game dev. You wouldn't want to know what artists / designers ask for. For every 5min task they do once every other month they ask for a one-click-tool.

Still looking forward to it.
(Not so much on trying to figure out what they do exactly... but some means to tweak deblending... mhh... looks super-delicous.)
