Input & Colorspaces
Hi,
I just bought a TV and I have some questions: I have an HTPC (ATI HD4350) connected through HDMI. In the ATI Control Center I can choose between different settings: YCbCr, RGB,... Wich would be the right one? I've read somewhere that ideally it should be YCbCr since HD content is encoded that way, but I'm not sure... Also, in the TV settings I can choose between two colorspaces: Native and Auto. Wich is the right one? The TV is a Samsung UE32D5500. Thanks. |

RGB is the only one which works "correctly" for me. Using YCbCr appears, at least, to use PC levels and the TV's option to select the appropriate input level is no longer available.
I don't know about the second question but as the manual doesn't really explain anything well I'd be interested to know. It says "native" selects a color range wider than that of the input video. "Auto" changes the color range according to the type of video. I'm not sure exactly what that means. "Native" is the default so I just left it. My TV is also a Samsung. |
