DVD to MPEG2 file
Hi. I would like to rip my DVD collection so to have the videos in my NAS and watch them throught my network media player.
Instead of ripping the DVDs to Divx, Xvid or another codec and AVI container, can I rip the DVDs to MPEG2 files and watch the videos without loosing anything?? (without compression other than the original DVD MPEG2). |

You could demux the video and audio streams with DGIndex and then mux to MKV. |

My Player does support MPEG 1, 2, AVI, MKV (x264), nearly any video format but not ISOs. Wich of thoose formats is better in terms of video quality? I think MPEG2 because is the same codec as original DVD so I have not to recode or recompress anything. Am I wrong?

Unfortunately, it doesn´t support vob files.
If I use http://www.svcd2dvd.com/VOB2MPG/default.aspx to rip to MPEG2, will I loose any vido quality? or the video just will be copyed to a MPEG2 file without any recodig or recompression? Thank you. |

Cheers manolito BTW if the current version of VOB2MPG does not show the preview, you have to go back to version 3.0.0021. Download here: http://www.videohelp.com/download/VOB2MPG30.zip |
