When using MPC-BE 1.7.0.17 and setting the renderer to MPC Video Renderer 0.8.0.2224 or later, noise occurs on the screen and the image
is not displayed properly. There is no problem with MPC-HC 2.2.1. OS:Windows11 home CPU core i5 12400 GPU Intel UHD Graphics 730 Momory DDR4 3200 32GB |

LAV Filters advantage over included in MPC-BE
Sorry if this has been answered before, but I've always been curious as to what advantage comes from using external LavFilters over recent MPC-BE internal filters (source, video, audio), specially MPC Video Decoder 1.7.0.
In the latter settings, is there any advantage on using D3D12cb over default 'D3D11, DXVA2'? I tried the former on Intel graphics and the green line graph on 'Ctrl + J' mas more jagged. |

There are no advantages other than special use. Copyback mode will always be slower than native modes.

@wyup The LAV filter splitter is much better because it allows for more control of subtitles, audio, etc. if you've taken the time to dial in some settings, which I have. In the BE player, I use it as an external filter.. but for decoders in BE, I use the BE video and audio decoders.
Copy-back still has a use-case, depending on the renderer, e.g. inverse-telecining of a DVD, but this doesn't really apply to most people anymore. |
