Black screen with Amazon Prime Video solved
Today I ran into an issue where upon loading Prime Video the outcome would be a black screen requiring the computer to be powered off.
The reason for it is due to a HDMI HDCP failure caused by using CVT-RB2 timings on this old monitor. CVT-RB, DMT timings work with no issue using HDCP. I don't understand it, because the screen displays just fine with CVT-RB2, except for Amazon's HDCP. The old content protection chip must not be quick enough to pick up on the reduced timing properly, but the regular display circuitry is fine with it. Further testing with CVT-RB2 but changing only the polarities. H V + + = Works - - = FAILS + - = FAILS - + = Works Last edited by Sunspark; 21st June 2022 at 05:50. |
