Pinnacle DV 500 plus - Windows 2000 or XP in 2023?

Hello!

I have acquired a DV 500 Plus with breakout box and CDs from a nice person on EBay. I've tried to install it on Windows XP SP 3 and got no joy.

I've also tried to install it on Windows 2000 and the drivers I found on the internet actually bluescreened Windows 2000. Eeek!

There are posts describing how to install this beast but since those posts went live, Pinnacle has removed the source of the links to the correct drivers.

Does anyone have links to the correct drivers for the card in this day and age? My card came with a copy of Premier 6.0 and a version of Pinnacles own software. There is a DV 500 disk, but it only seems to have NT4 and 98 drivers.

Thanks for your help.

Pinnacle Systems DV500 DVD V. 4.5
==================================
Pinnacle Systems DV500 will not support Windows XP SP2.
(It might have worked under WinXP SP1, I gather)

OK, thanks. I'll try that. I also tried it on 2000 and got the same result.

Do you have a link to a known-good set of drivers?

Try asking on MSFN in the Windows XP section.
There's a very active XP diehard community there with people who are far more familiar with drivers, INF modding etc than me and I'm sure they're gonna help you.

The blue screen I remember from a long time ago is that when driver for Pinnacle DV500 was installed for Pinnacle Studio Deluxe version, but not the other way around 1. Later version of DV500 PCI card look similar to Pinnacle Studio Deluxe and they sometimes could get mixed up. You can try using the Pinnacle Studio Driver version 1 from https://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/SupportF...readmeHW10.htm to see if it can be properly installed without yellow exclamation or blue screen.
