DGMPGDec Known Issues and Limitations

These issues apply to the latest available version, whether beta, release candidate, or final.

-----
"No-I-frame" streams cannot be processed.

DGDecode field order declaration bug -- TFF/BFF valid only for progressive sequence==0 && FRAME_PICTURE.

Need auto horizontal scrollbar in file list dialog (no scrollbar when not needed).

DGParse should show the effects of FF decimation/replication.

Need to add back the autoincrement open option.

DGIndex assumes DVD semantics for audio stream numbering in program streams. The audio id for each stream must be unique. For example, if there is an MPEG audio stream on 0xC0 and an AC3 audio stream on 0x80, this will not be handled correctly. Fortunately, such program streams are rare.

Not all DGIndex funtions are available through the CLI, and not all information that DGIndex gathers can be accessed by a third-party application. For example, the DGIndex Info dialog contents (and other info) should be readable via the CLI.

Decode to WAV is limited to 2GB WAV files.

DGDecode macroblocks on some severe video errors for which DGIndex recovers without macroblocking.

DGMPGDec needs to be able to load older D2V files. Backward compatibility in general should be a strong requirement.

DVR-MS files are not supported.

DGIndex should do audio playback.

DGIndex should process multiple audio streams from transport streams (just as it does for program streams). Currently, only one audio PID can be specified at a time.

Unicode paths and file names are not supported.

With version 30000, are the first two b-frames still replaced with duplicates of the first I-frame?

EDIT: the patch notes for version 300000 say that 32-bit has been dropped. Umm... 32-bit WHAT, exactly? Do you mean that it no longer works with 32-bit AVIsynth?
