H-m, Mplayer build 2006-08-15 incorrectly detect available CPU extensions. This is output of default mplayer.exe, installed for my Pentium 3 Tualutin 1.4-S CPU:

Code:
MPlayer dev-SVN-r19401-4.1.1 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) III CPU family      1400MHz (Family: 6, Model: 11, Step
ping: 1)
CPUflags:  MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 0 SSE2: 0
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX MMX2 SSE
And this by other exe from package, probable for P4 class CPU`s:

Code:
MPlayer dev-SVN-r19401-4.1.1 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) III CPU family      1400MHz (Family: 6, Model: 11, Step

No. It's doing exactly what it supposed to. SSE/SSE2 are not supposed to be enabled. I patched certain builds such as the P4 build to enable them, so in actual fact they are the ones that are incorrectly detecting.

The P3 build is not patched, so no SSE.

Thanks for clarification
Maybe it should be documented somewhere what build uses which optimizations

Seems MPUI development is frozen. No news since 2006-06-24

I'm not MPUI dev.
Just make my own build with Delphi7-Pro and some minor modifications.

The Installer is englisch only, but MPUI has full multi-language support: More than 20 languages supported in current version. Just go to options window and choose a language.

Hi,
First : thank you for your package : its the best way to play video files on windows.

The only thing I can't do is changing font size. I can do it in rulesplayer but this player is buggy with french accent so that I don't use it.
How can I change font size with MPUI?

Sorry, don't think MPUI has such an option.
You'll have to pick the source-code load it into Delphi and change the font-size by hand.
Or you hack the resources - Delphi stores all Dialogs as Resources in the EXE files

Hmm! I've changed fonts and size by downloading new fonts form the MPlayer web site. Then modifying the config to point to them. You will need to try one set at a time until you find the one you are happy with size wise. The selection is kinda thin as it covers the ISO standards character sets for languages.

In MPUI you will need to open options and under additional mplayer parameters type: -font <path> The font chosen will not effect DVDs or VOBSub type subtitles but it does effect OSD and most other supported subtitle formats.

ISO Standard for various characters sets

So you were talking about MPlayer front (OSD, Subitiles, etc.) and not MPUI font. Then you can do it this way
Changing MPUI font is a different thing...

It looks promissing!

I tried it out and it looks promissing. The GUI is simple and cool. But I don't get to turn ON the subtitle for a DVD in which I tested it with gmplayer. How do turn on the subtitle?

Another question with is how to configurate others parameters. In MPUI I set these parameters out (into interface):

Code:
-af volnorm -softvol -softvol-max 600 -volstep 10 -alang en,pt -slang en -sid 0 -subfont-autoscale 0 -subfont-text-scale 25
How to do this configuration into gmplayer?

Anyway, I liked it!

I would assume that gmplayer uses the conf file, same as mplayer. You can set all default options there.

Thanks for your reaction. I did some 'googling' and found some posts on Ubuntu's forums, which gave me some clues how to configurate the file 'config' at mplayers folder. Below follows the configuration that is working fine to play DVDs:

Code:
# Write your default config options here!

#======
# Video
#======

#This sets the postprocessing into overdrive using all possible spare cpu cycles to make the

movie look better
#autoq=100
#vf=pp=de,hqdn3d

#======
# Audio
#======

# Set audio normalization
af=volnorm

# Set volume control
softvol=1
softvol-max=300
volstep=10

# Set audio language
alang=en,pt

#==========
# Subtitles
#==========

# VobSubs
#========

# Align subs. (-1: as they want to align themselves)
spualign=-1

# Anti-alias subs. (4: best and slowest)
spuaa=4

# Set language.
slang=en,eng,pt,por

# Text-based subtitles
#=====================

# Find subtitle files. (1: load all subs containing movie name)
sub-fuzziness=1

# Set font.
font=C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\Impact.ttf

# Set font encoding.
subfont-encoding=unicode

# Set subtitle file encoding.
unicode=yes
utf8=yes

# Resample the font alphamap. (1: narrow black outline)
ffactor=1

# Set subtitle position. (100: as low as possible)
subpos=100

# Set subtitle alignment at its position. (2: bottom)
subalign=2

# Set font size. (2: proportional to movie width)
subfont-autoscale=2

# Set font blur radius. (default: 2)
subfont-blur=2.0

# Set font outline thickness. (default: 2)
subfont-outline=2.0

# Set autoscale coefficient. (default: 5)
subfont-text-scale=4.4

# OSD
#====

# Set autoscale coefficient. (default: 6)
subfont-osd-scale=4.4

#===========
# Appearance
#===========

# Disable screensaver.
stop-xscreensaver=yes

# Position window. (50%:50%: center of screen)
geometry=50%:50%

# Skin
#skin=Glider

#Some extra stuff I am currently not using....
#Fix A/V sync problems on files with bad MP3 VBR audio
#mc="1"
#autosync="10"
#delay="0.5"
Perhaps be useful for someone.

Subtitles

How can I get subtitle support with this build of MPlayer?

Every file I play has the "Subtitle Track" option greyed out. I even tried having the subs and the video files named the same thing (that's how they auto-load in other players due to the VobSub package).

Bug Report:

MPUI Cant seek for the RMVB files while the same mplayer.exe can seek RMVB fast&well
But MPUI can seek for other files(mov/mp4/avi/wmv/....)

It seems that MPUI cant capture the seek Message(eg:drag the slide bar or click the corresponding menu item ) Which I send to it!

It is very strange for me!
